PewDie’s P.O.V
“Don’t you feel bad about this?” I asked Cry but he just put his finger to my lips. They parted slightly, taking in a sharp breath as his skin pressed against me, making my stomach clench uncomfortable. Embarrassingly, I could feel my face begin to heat up, showing him the effect this one simple action was having.
“Shhh, we don’t want that shadow to find us,” he whispered before glancing over at me and cocking his head to the side. “Are you okay?”
I quickly moved away from his touch, not feeling exactly comfortable with it anymore, not right now, not with everything that’s going on. I didn’t agree with this, what he was forcing me to go along with. “I don’t like this. Please, can you just stop for a second and think about what you’re doing...Cry...Stop it. This is serious...Uhhh.”
I snapped my eyes shut, feeling his warm breath brush against my lips. He shifted slightly, his knee purposely grazing at one desired stop. One arm lay beside my head, the other next to my chest as he crawled over me, leaning very close...too close. “Don’t make me shut you up,” he whispered, his voice clouded with warning and lust.
“This is so wrong,” I told him sternly and raised my arms, shoving against his shoulders but he didn’t even budge. A deep chuckle escaped his lips and my eyes locked with them, the top of his mask coming just below his nose as he shot me a wicked grin. My insides tightened, my body protesting against my minds reasoning. That grin...those lips...I swiftly moved my head to the side, causing him to miss mine and plant a kiss on my cheek instead.
“Playing hard to get?” he asked, slight confusion now present in his voice. His hand came up to my face, gently pulling it back to look at him as he stared down at me. “Is something wrong?”
Again, my eyes closed, hating the sudden innocence he portrayed. How can he be so clueless?
“Yes Cry, something’s wrong. Now, please, get off me.” It took him a few seconds to move but when he did I let out a shaky breath, glad for my own space again. He continued to back away from me until he came to a tree, where he slouched back, leaning against the bark and glancing over the wide rock that hid us. I sat up, brushing the dirty leaves from my back and brought my knees to my chest, resting my back against the rock.
A terrified scream sounded in the distance, vibrating off each tree, scaring the birds and making me shiver. We did this. I didn’t agree with it but I wasn’t stopping it either.
“Was there really no other way?” I asked quietly, wrapping my arms around my legs and flinching as another call for help filled the silence.
“There was really no other way, Pewds. I promise,” he answered, finally sounding himself again. “I’m not happy with doing this either...but if me and you are going to stay then they have to leave. It’s the last two standing...”
“So...we just leave them there, tied up, for the shadow to get them?” The image of Ken’s pleading eyes filled my head. He’d begged us not to leave him, quietly begged me not to continue on with the competition. I know he feared for my safety but...all he had to do was tell Cry. If he’d told Cry there was a chance I would die...he’d have tied me up and shot me, eliminating me from the competition himself.
“Well you didn’t want me to shoot him,” he said, soundly defensive all of a sudden. I was about to explain myself when a horrifying shriek exploded from behind us.
“Pewds! Cry! Please! It’s coming!” Ken’s frantic voice yelled, slightly muffled by the distance between up. My whole body flinched and tears began to well in my eyes. How could I let this happen? Ken was only trying to help me! God knows what that shadow in going to do to them. I didn’t even want to think about it...but I couldn’t get the thoughts from my head, haunting and taunting me, pulling my strings until I was consumed with a suffocating guilt.
