Chapter 18

Cody's POV:

I wake up from my nap in the uncomfortable chairs of the hospital waiting room. My mum and dad are sitting next to me, reading magazines. Alli and Tom are sitting across from us. Alli is on her phone and Tom is asleep.

A doctor comes into the waiting room. Families all around sit up, hoping that their loved one's doctor with some good news. "Is there a Cody Simpson here?" I stand up and rush over to the doctor. My parents listen from their seats.

"I'm Cody." I say when I approach the doctor. "Hi. I'm Dr. Arlington, Jessica's doctor." I listen. "How is she?" I hear the worry in my voice. "She's finally awake. And she's asking for you." I nod and follow him down a few halls and to a room.

"You might want to keep your distance unless she asks you to get closer. She's had a rough night." Dr. Arlington warned me. I thanked him for taking care of her and walked in.

Jessica's POV:

"Hey, Angel." I hear a familiar voice say. I smile. "Hi." I say sleepily. Cody pulls a chair up next to me. "Who all has been in to see you?" He asks me. I think for a second. "If you don't count the doctor or nurses, just you. Where's my dad?" He sighs. "In jail. He was an accomplice to kidnapping. That Marcus jerk is in there too. Kidnapping and attempted rape."

I sigh in relief. Then i get a thought and I get upset. "If my dad's in jail," I started. "Where am I going to live? Will I go to an orphanage or something?" That's when Cody's face lit up. "Nope. No orphanage for you. My parents agreed to you living with us." With that I was so happy I just pulled Cody into the biggest hug.

"You have no clue how happy I am to hear that!" I say before I lean in to kiss him. When our lips are centimeters apart, I already feel the sparks. Then our lips touched. It was the best feeling in the world.

Cody pulled away because he had to go tell his parents how I took the news. Once the door closed, I thought how I have the best boyfriend in the world. There is no girl in the galaxy as happy as I am!
