Chapter 14

"One, two, three" Lisa called out, guiding us as we practice our choreography for the new album track. Being back in Korea meant it was time to get to work. We were gearing up to showcase our latest song at a live awards show.

After getting styled and taking a moment to unwind, we were summoned to the stage for our performance. The crew led us to the host for our upcoming interview.

"Who do you think will be hosting?" Jisoo asked with a sparkle of excitement in her eyes.

Our album had just dropped a week ago and had been soaring at the top of the charts ever since. While this success was becoming a familiar tune for us, the thrill never faded; it felt like the first time all over again.

"Jisoo, remember, you're giving the acceptance speech for our award," Rosé chimed in, a gentle reminder.

We did not have an official leader in our group, but Jisoo naturally stepped into that role, embodying every trait a leader should have. She might have protested, but deep down, she knew she had no choice in the matter.

"V will be your host today" the staff announced before moving on to their other duties leaving Taehyung alone with us

Ever since that moment at my apartment, we've been silent, and I've done everything I can to avoid him. He called me several times, but I let each call go unanswered. I was determined to keep my life free from unnecessary drama. I already had enough challenges to deal with, and I was finished with any complications involving boys.

I think I've moved on from Kai, and that had been my goal all along.

I didn’t want to invite more chaos into my life. I had witnessed the toxicity in him, and I knew I could never fall for someone like that again.

I kept a professional demeanour, forcing a smile when he came closer to us. He was quiet for a moment before starting to interact with the other girls as the interview began.

As the questions started coming in, I made an effort to respond, aware that the fans would notice any tension between us. The other girls were already picking up on something being off. V managed to hide his feelings, his expression eerily blank for the first time. I couldn’t figure out what was going through his mind.

“Good luck tonight” He said, his genuine smile breaking through for a moment. It was the only hint of emotion I saw from him all evening. I knew he had been feeling something for me, and my lack of reciprocation weighed on my conscience. I had been in his position before, and I couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy.

As I belted out the final notes of our song, "So pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty," the crowd erupted in a thunderous applause that filled the air with electric energy. My heart swelled with joy as I caught sight of our fans, their light sticks illuminating the venue in a mesmerizing sea of pink. We embraced each other tightly before bowing in gratitude to the audience.

"That was a phenomenal performance from the Best Girl Group of the Decade" Taehyung declared, standing beside Lisa as the MC, showering us with compliments.

"Jennie, of course, is an exceptional beau....talent in the group" He quickly amended before introducing the upcoming act.

I watched in admiration as he joined his bandmates for their performance. After all the acts had dazzled the audience, it was time for the awards to be handed out.

"And the award for Best Album of the Year goes to... BLACKPINK!" Taehyung announced with enthusiasm. We glided to the stage, ready to accept our honour. Once we reached the podium, Jisoo took the mic to share her heartfelt words.

"Thank you, Blinks, for this incredible recognition. We poured our hearts into this album, and we are endlessly grateful for the love and support you continue to show us," Jisoo concluded, blowing a sweet kiss to the audience.
