The kiss deepened, slow but insistent, as if they were both trying to understand the weight of what this meant. Seungmin felt himself unravel under Jisung’s touch, his mind racing to process what he was doing. This wasn’t supposed to happen. He wasn’t supposed to want this, to feel this.

But here he was, kissing the one person he should hate, and instead of pulling away, he let himself fall deeper.

Jisung’s hands were firm but careful, gripping Seungmin’s waist as if he was afraid to let go. The heat between them was undeniable, but for once, it wasn’t just about the physical. It was about all the moments that had led up to this—the late nights in each other’s arms, the stolen glances across meeting rooms, the countless arguments that had somehow only fueled their desire.

Seungmin pulled back first, breathless, his chest heaving. He stared up at Jisung, his heart pounding, confusion written all over his face. “I don’t understand you,” he muttered, his voice raw with frustration.

Jisung’s gaze softened, his thumb brushing over Seungmin’s cheek. “Maybe you don’t have to. Not right now.”

Seungmin’s eyes flickered with uncertainty, but he didn’t pull away from Jisung’s touch. He wanted to push Jisung away, to remind him that they weren’t supposed to be like this. But every time he tried, every time he thought he could walk away, something pulled him back.

“This is insane,” Seungmin whispered, shaking his head.

Jisung chuckled softly, the sound low and rich. “You’re probably right.”

Seungmin couldn’t help but let out a breath of laughter, though it was tinged with disbelief. “How did we end up here?”

Jisung’s smile faded, and he looked at Seungmin with an intensity that sent a shiver down his spine. “Maybe we were always going to end up here,” Jisung said quietly. “Maybe this was inevitable.”

The weight of his words hung in the air, thick and heavy. Seungmin wanted to deny it, to say that none of this made sense. But deep down, he knew Jisung was right. They had been circling each other for months, fighting and competing in every way imaginable, but it had always been more than just business. It had always been personal.

Seungmin let out a shaky breath, his hands still resting on Jisung’s chest. “What happens now?”

Jisung’s eyes darkened, his hand sliding to the back of Seungmin’s neck. “Now, we stop pretending.”

Seungmin’s heart skipped a beat as Jisung leaned in, his lips ghosting over Seungmin’s once more. The kiss was softer this time, slower, as if Jisung was savoring every moment. Seungmin’s hands gripped Jisung’s shirt, pulling him closer, the world around them fading until all that mattered was the feel of Jisung’s body against his own.

It was terrifying, this new territory they were stepping into, but for the first time in a long time, Seungmin wasn’t fighting it. He was tired of the walls, tired of the games. Maybe this was wrong, maybe it was reckless, but it was real.

And for now, that was enough.

When they finally pulled apart, both of them were breathless, their foreheads pressed together. Seungmin closed his eyes, his mind still racing with the reality of what had just happened.

“This… this can’t be public,” Seungmin whispered, his voice laced with apprehension. “No one can know about this.”

Jisung nodded, his expression unreadable. “I know.”

Seungmin pulled back, locking eyes with Jisung. “I mean it. Our companies, our friends—no one. This doesn’t leave this room.”

Jisung’s jaw tightened, but he didn’t argue. “Fine. But that doesn’t change what’s between us.”

Seungmin swallowed hard, the weight of the situation crashing down on him. He wasn’t sure how to navigate this—how to balance the rivalry that had defined their relationship with the undeniable connection they now shared. It felt like he was walking a tightrope, and one wrong step could send everything crashing down.

But for now, with Jisung’s hand still on his, Seungmin was willing to take the risk.

“We’ll figure it out,” Jisung said softly, as if reading his thoughts. “One step at a time.”

Seungmin nodded, though uncertainty still gnawed at the back of his mind. He didn’t know what the future held, didn’t know if this was a mistake waiting to happen. But for now, with Jisung standing so close, it didn’t matter.

All that mattered was the quiet promise they had just made, and the unspoken agreement that, for better or worse, they were in this together.

Whatever this was.
