Bomb dropped

Arriving back at Lucy's Jasper sat on the sofa. The pair got ready for the evening it was now 5:45pm. He looked around why don't you have any pictures he said his hand gesturing to the bare walls.
Tim arrived and went to knock but heard the slightly tense conversation so waited.
I just don't Lucy replied. You do have them though don't you. Lucy nodded her head mm-hm she said let's put some out Jasper said standing up.
No I don't want to Lucy replied firmly.
Why? Jasper said sitting back down
Because then I'll have to explain everything.
Wait they don't know about Sammy jasper said
Tim does but no one else does.
Oh come on Luce that's not healthy. Jasper replied
You do not want to lecture me on healthy you up and left you were just like papa Lucy said.
Jasper I'm not doing this now they're going to be here soon.
Tim sensing this was a good time knocked the door.
Lucy turned to jasper can you get it I need a minute she walked off into her room.
Jasper opened the door. Hey Tim he said offering a hand and bringing him in to a hug.
You good man he said Jasper nodded. He pointed to the door lu is taking a minute. Tim smiled.
Jasper walked into the kitchen handed Tim a beer. The two started chatting Angela Wes Nyla and James turned up and Lucy came out they all made their way to the restaurant. Tim was sat in between Lucy and jasper.
The night was easy and conversations flowed they all ate and the group saw the similarities between Lucy and jasper.
As they went to pay their bill Lucy went to the bathroom.
Tim was just exiting when they collided. Tim grabbed her waist she could feel his fingers run over the fabric of her dress. My bad he said her breath hitched their eyes made contact she smiled. It's okay I'm a bit of a klutz. He let her go and went to pay his drinks bill.
The group got in an Uber and went to a cocktail bar.
Jasper who hadn't been allowed to drink for 5 years was tipsy. The group was merry.
More drinks flowed
The night went on. One by one the group started to dwindle. Lucy was talking to Angela saying goodbye
Tim was only tipsy and speaking to jasper who was completely smashed.
I need to ask you something man Jasper said. Tim leaned in. What are your intentions with lu Tim sat back i i don't know what you mean he said. Jasper raised his eyebrows come on dude he laughed every one can see it. It's cool you like her she likes you
Tim started laughing ready to deny it then paused wait how do you know she likes me. Tim questioned. Jasper laughed with my sister it's all in the face. She can never hide anything plus she couldn't shut up about you today when she likes someone she remembers the little facts that she gets told it's like her way of forming a relationship with anyone. She's the most caring person Jasper said Tim chuckled haha very true she can never hide her face.  mate she likes you jasper chuckled I know my sister she's bloody smitten but it will take her some time to admit it because it's lu and she's fucking petrified of rejection or being left. Tim listened intently.
As the night carried on the trio shared laughs and formed new memories.
Lucy who was now paralytic was sat next to jasper her eyes closing. Right lightweight he said turning to Lucy let's get you home. Tim can you give me a hand. Tim stood you grab her bag I'll get Luce.
Tim wrapped his hand around Lucy they sat in an Uber and jasper turned rather than two drop offs do you want to stay. Tim shrugged sure he said. As the ride went on Tim asked Jasper about his time in the army. Tim mentioned he had served too the pair bonded over that. Lucy's head fell on to Tim's shoulder.
Pulling up Tim carried Lucy inside and placed her on her bed with a bottle of water. He pulled her door to and sat in the living room.
She was buzzing when she got your phone call Tim said Jasper smiled I go back tomorrow evening it was a short leave he said looking down.
Tim looked at him. You're like your sister your face can't hide anything. She's going fucking hate me but when I left I didn't join the army straight away she thought I did but I went to stay with our dad. So when I enlisted I put his name down under parent. I realised that I made a shitty decision leaving lu so cut off contact with both of them and started to message lu. We built our relationship back up from the ground. However I received a call a couple of days ago um to say that he had died in his sleep. Tim paused I don't really know how to tell her Jasper said. The two sat in silence.
