A whole lot of history

They awoke with Lucy's alarm she was on the early shift. She turned the alarm off a cuddled in to Tim.
Mm good morning he said kissing the top of her head.
After 5 minutes she got up and got ready for work. Smiling she bent down by Tim's side of the bed. She stroked his hair and smile appeared on his face. I'll see you at work okay remember we are seeing Genny after work she doesn't know yet. Tim's eyes opened god you're so beautiful he said kissing her.
Have you had breakfast Tim asked her
No I'm taking a banana with me. Hey you that baby is half Bradford he needs more than a banana. Lucy giggled placing a kiss on his lips okay I'll take some toast too.
She left and arrived at work. Walking in she met Nyla.
Hey sweets she said
Hey Nyla Lucy replied
You're riding with me Lucy's face lit up amazing I'll be out in 5.
Getting on with the morning the pair had a calm one when the radio buzzed 7-Adam-19 possible deceased teen
Responding Lucy said. Her heart racing as they pulled up to the house. Ambulances were already there. Lucy got a flashback closing her eyes she took 2 breaths and walked up to the door.
Opening it Nyla said LAPD a little girl appeared. I'm going to search Chen can you stay with the girl. Lucy nodded. Her eyes looking at the little girl. She bent down so she was at her level.

How old are you darling
8 her eyes started filling up my brother was hanging her tears spilled over
Lucy opened her arms and the little girl fell into them. Sitting her on her knee she comforted her you were so brave. You were so clever calling us well done.

The little girls sobs loud she buried her head in Lucy's neck her arms round Lucy's waist. Lucy returned the hug.

Nyla came down. The boy was 19 he was looking after her both parents are gone they are on holiday. Lucy looked at the girl

Zoe you're going to come to the station with us okay. Lucy stood up. Zoe's hands raised up and Lucy picked her up.

Nyla went to call it in.

Tim was talking to Angela when he heard it come through on the radio. He went white.

What's up Angela said.
This is going to be too much for her.
Angela looked confused
So you know Lucy's got her brother jasper. Angela nodded well she had a younger brother too they were the best of friends. Only 11 months apart Lucy came home from school and found him dead in the bath. He had slit his wrists. Her mum blamed her he dad left and so did jasper it was just her.

Fuck Angela said wiping a tear from her eye.

Just then Nyla walked in Tim and Angela walked up to her where's Lucy they both asked. Showing the little girl around.

Tim Angela said pointing he looked up Lucy was walking in the little girl gripping to her. She walked in gave them a smile and went to the break room. Tim followed.

The little girl was sat on Lucy. Tim walked in smiled at her.
What's your name he asked the little girl moved her head into Lucy. Lucy gently stroked her hair this is Zoe. Zoe's having a really rough day.
My names Tim when I'm having a bad day I like to have a snack. Are you hungry?
Zoe nodded he got the biscuits out Zoe took one. Tim gave one to Lucy too. She gladly ate it as she felt a little lightheaded
Social care came in Lucy explained what was going to happen. Lucy carried Zoe into the general precinct and they waited for her mum.
Tim sat with them. He stroked Lucy's hair Lucy looked up he saw he give a small smile. Zoe who was on Lucy sat up it's mummy she said Lucy's eyes lifted she saw a panicked woman approach the front desk. Zoe squirmed and ran to her mummy Lucy watched the mother embrace her seeing the comfort was the final piece for her this mother didn't run she stayed.
Lucy put her hand on her stomach Tim saw this and gestures to Nyla to finish it as he took Lucy. They walked into the break room and hugged.
Bet you didn't see that coming ey Tim said
Lucy managed a small laugh it's not what I had planned for today.
Are you okay Tim asked.
Mm-hm yeah it had a different ending yeah I'm okay. Let's go and do something positive she said let's go to Gennys she's going to be over the moon Tim said kissing Lucy.
The pair got changed and headed out sitting in his truck he put the radio on sensing they just needed noise without the talking.
Fine line came on. Lucy smiled shutting her eyes. Tim drove. It was about 30 minutes away.
Parking up at Gennys they both stood out of the truck. Tim took the gift out of Lucy's hands hey I'm not an invalid she said laughing. No I know but I also know my sister and she's going to want to hug you first. Lucy rang the doorbell

Genny opened it Luce she said bringing her arms around her Genny was 4 years older than Tim. After letting her go she put her hands on her face you're looking beautiful she said Lucy blushed.
Thank you Tim said. The girls laughed. Genny hugged Tim.

Where are the boys Tim asked as they walked in Pete has taken them to football practice.
Tim nodded he had always had a soft spot for his nephews.

So what brings you two down my way. She said bringing them drinks Lucy took a sip well she looked at Tim. Tim handed Genny the present we got you something sis.
Genny took the box squinting her eyes hmmm she said why are you getting me things. Lucy took Tim's hand. Genny watched seeing Lucy's excitement she opened the gift.
It was a tiny baby grow that said my auntie loves me. Genny unwrapped it then saw a sonogram tucked in.

She looked at Tim who looked at Lucy. NOOOOOO Genny said are you guys pregnant Lucy nodded Genny screamed and pulled Lucy into a hug.
She hugged Tim you're going to be a daddy oh my god she said. Her smile big and beaming.

After a few hours they said their goodbyes and headed home.
