Tim was getting breakfast ready jasper was chatting in the kitchen Lucy came out.
Babe don't forget we have our 24 week scan today.
Mm-hm her face blank is that today. Yeah babe he said tapping the calendar. Oh yeah I remember now she said smiling how could i forget. I know you remembered babe he said kissing her head.
Are you on patrol Tim asked Lucy nodded oh wait no I don't think so. Honestly Tim she said I can't remember. Jaspers phone buzzed
He answered it leaving the room. Come on babe I've told you well I thought we decided you were going to be desk duty 4 days patrol 1. You've done your patrol this week. Lucy shook her head I can't remember she said. I like patrol Tim it makes me feel like I'm doing good desk work is soul destroying. I know he said but you're carrying precious cargo he said holding her belly. Tim kissed Lucy's head as she picked up her drink I'll see you at the hospital he said.

Lucy started clearing around jasper came back in buzzing he picked her up and swished her around. Lucy laughed what's got into you she asked I can fly back out he said as he put her down. I've been cleared. Lucy's smile left oh
No Lu this is great he said. I finally feel happy again.
W-wait you weren't happy here. She asked trying not to let emotion take over.
No I mean I was but out there I feel part of something.

Nodding she took a step back tears appearing in her eyes.

She got in her car and drove she had 1 hour before she needed to be at work. She had automatically driven to the cemetery she got out and walked until she got to a gravestone that read Samuel Johnathon Chen she placed a strawberry on it and sat down. 14 years without you she said her fingers traced over his name. Never did I think I would be here at 27 her hand went to her growing bump pregnant without you. Now jasper is going again papas with you Jesus our family is so messed up a tear fell. I miss you she said. I bet you didn't bloody know I still can't have a milkshake even though it's the only thing I truly crave. Do you know shit it is she said giving a light chuckle all I can just about manage is a banana and strawberry that doesn't make me completely break down. Today is possibly the worst day she said. Standing up she brushed herself off and sat back in her car. Composing herself she drove to the station.

She arrived Angela saw her first hey she said Lucy smiled hey.  you okay Angela asked yeah just a stupid fight with jasper. Angela nodded brothers eh Lucy smiled at her friend's attempt to make it better. Tim here Lucy asked she wanted Tim he would've made it better.
Shaking her head Angela said no he's on patrol. Lucy walked over to schedule she was on desk duty today. Sitting down she tried to take her mind off jasper leaving again, the fact that it has been 14 years to the day since Sammy died, that Jasper clearly doesn't remember and the fact that she can't remember anything.
Lucy became immersed in the task at hand. Her phone on silent from the graveyard she didn't hear Tim's text
T- are we meeting at the station or hospital x
T- Luce ?
T- I guess I will come to the station.
Tim appeared in the station an hour later and saw Lucy at her desk he walked up behind her and sat down she was so engrossed in her task she didn't notice him.

He kissed her head she looked up and smiled Phone broken he said she made a confused face.
Come on babe I text you for the appointment you were supposed to say where we were meeting.
Oh shit Lucy hit her head with her hand. I completely forgot I'm sorry. It's okay Tim said slightly frustrated.
Now you're cross she said rubbing her head Lucy stood up Tim puffed out air. It was a little frustrating trying to organise things with you at the minute seems like your head is everywhere but here.

What's that supposed to mean Lucy said taking a step back.

I mean you seem a little distracted that's all. Tim said moving closer to her. Angela walked toward them with Nyla. She nodded and her lip trembled.
Are you okay he asked sensing that something was up. He went to hug her but she stood backwards I'll get my stuff and then we can go. Lucy said walking away. Her tone short.
Luce I didn't mean it like that but she carried on walking
Tim let out a sigh oh Bradford what's going on Nyla said. I think we had an argument Tim said.
Lucy seems to be having them left right and centre today ange said. Tim looked at her, wait she argued with you.
Shaking her head Angela replied no she told me She argued with Jasper this morning.
you ready Lucy said walking out. Good luck Nyla said. Tim ran to catch up with her.
As they drove it was silent. Sat in the waiting room Tim turned to her baby I'm sorry I didn't mean it yes I found it frustrating but I hadn't put my all in to organising it so shouldn't have come at you.

lucy looked at  him and offered a quick small smile. Shaking her head it's fine I'm sorry too I should've had my phone on loud and replied . He leaned in and kissed her.

The pair went in to the room. Lucy sitting on the bed rolled her top up.
The doctor palpated her stomach so did you drink lots before coming Lucy nodded a full bladder means a better picture well it won't be full for much longer if you keep pressing it Lucy laughed Tim chuckled and so did the doctor.
Feeling many movements the doctor asked.
Lucy nodded started about 2 weeks ago now it's just all the time she said smiling.
The doctor turned to Tim. Have you managed to feel some too dad. Tim nodded yeah I think I'm more excited that her when I feel a kick.
When do you feel the most. The doctor questioned. Lucy said I get a load first thing just after lunch and tea clearly motivated by food. Takes after their dad she said looking at Tim smiling he chuckled.
The doctor squirted the gel on her belly.

Tim took Lucy's hand wow look the baby is so big now I can see fingers and toes he said.

Congratulations you're having a girl. Tim gasped smiling he said oh my god a girl lu a girl. Tim was beaming he looked over to Lucy trying to gauge her reaction Lucy burst into tears her hand covered her eyes.

The doctor sensing they needed a minute left.
Tim wiped the gel off her tummy.

Baby what's wrong. He held her hand and she moved into him his arms came around her and she sobbed into him. It was all coming out now. Tim could see it wasn't happy tears.
