At the entrance, Shen Jing waited by the door with servants flanking either side. As the guards opened the door, Dai Shinto entered with a commanding presence, moving slowly.
His cloak billowed around him, obscuring his body as he carried something in his hands.
In the background behind Dai Shinto, male servants carried wooden boxes and chests of unknown contents, transporting them to the alchemy lab.
The servants bowed in perfect unison, their movements flawless due to rigorous training, and then stood upright as they greeted Dai Shinto. Following them, Shen Jing stepped forward to greet his husband.
"W-Welcome back home, husband!" Shen Jing exclaimed with excitement, his voice betraying his nervousness as he stuttered and fidgeted with his fingers.
Dai Shinto, noticing Shen Jing's effort to warmly welcome him, chose not to comment on his flustered state. Instead, he cleared his throat and responded warmly.
"I'm happy to be home... How was your day, love?" he asked, his use of the term "love" causing Shen Jing to blush deeply and tries to compose himself but failed. The servants, doing their best to remain discreet, tried hard not to look.
"I also brought you some flowers, when I was on my way home." Dai Shinto said to Shen Jing, who looked surprised as Dai Shinto revealed the bouquet of flowers hidden beneath his cloak.
[Bouquet Of Roses]
Shen Jing's heart was racing as he could hardly believe that his husband had brought him such beautiful red roses. He happily accepted the flowers and they were exceptionally fresh. With Chen Mingze, the Head Steward, appears youthful, around his teenage years, and serves as Dai Shinto's right-hand man in managing the estates. He carefully removed Dai Shinto's cloak, folded it neatly, and tucked it under his arm.
He instructed the maid to escort Lord Dai Shinto and Little Lord Shen Jing to the dining table while the other servants went to prepare dinner for them.
They walked together as the sun set, casting a warm glow through the windows and entrances of the estate. The light reflected off shiny surfaces, creating a beautiful decoration, while other surfaces, though not gleaming, were still softly illuminated.
Meanwhile, Shen Jing, happily holding the flowers and walking beside his husband, felt a quiet moment between them. To break the silence, he asked Dai Shinto about his day at work as a doctor.
"How was your day at work?" Shen Jing asked, glancing at his husband, Dai Shinto, who briefly met his gaze before looking away.
"It was a busy day," Dai Shinto replied in a calm, stoic tone. "However, I decided to visit the Wangzi Auction House to pick up a few things."
