Liam
When we pull up to my parent's house I put the car in park and turn my attention to Liv. She's still sitting in the passenger seat counting on her fingers like she does when she's nervous. I reach over, taking both of her small, shaky hands in mine, finally making her stop.
"I don't think I can do this." She says desperately when she looks up at me.
"You can. I'm not throwing to the wolves here. They raised me and you like me so it's physically impossible for you not to like them." I joke, trying to lighten the mood.
"It's not them I'm worried about."
"Like I said. They'll love you. Deep breaths." I release her hands and move mine to her face, so she has to look me in the eyes. I press my lips to hers and kiss her lightly hoping to make her relax. She still feels tense so I deepen the kiss, letting my tongue slide into her mouth and my hands to her hips. She quickly responds, running her hands through my hair and pulling herself as close to me as she can with the arm rest between us. When she playfully runs her tongue along my bottom lip before biting it, I know I've successfully calmed her down. Still, I don't let that stop me from continuing our make out session. It may be a while before we get another chance.
"Thank you." She says with a sigh when we finally come up for air.
"My pleasure. Are you ready?"
"I'm ready as I'll ever be." She says with a laugh.
I lead the way to the door with Liv trailing behind me, clinging to my hand with a death grip. When I open the door my mum practically tackles me to the ground. My dad and sisters are seated casually in the family room, laughing at her usual overreaction.
"Sorry dear. I just missed you so much." She says with her arms wrapped tightly around me.
"It's ok. I missed you too." I say with a laugh while I hug her back.
"And you must be Olivia! Oh I'm so glad to finally meet you!" She says, pushing me out of the way and flinging her arms around my girlfriend.
"Thank you Mrs. Payne. It's great to meet you too." Liv says sweetly. I keep my eye on her, making sure she's not going to freak out again but she releases my hand and gives me a small nod, letting me know its ok.
"Call me Karen dear. Come in, make yourself at home." My mother says, effectively pulling her away from me. She takes the reigns of introducing Liv to the rest of my family while I follow behind and greet them before settling on the couch next to her. I swiftly offer her my hand and she takes it gratefully while my family excitedly grills her. She's a little hesitant at first but when she opens up she is her usual endearing self. After an hour of questioning I call them off and lead her upstairs to put our bags in my room. She's being a good sport about everything but I can tell she needs a break.
"You're amazing." I tell her after I shut the door behind me and wrap my arms around her.
"True. But why this time?" She replies with a grin.
"You were so great out there. They can be a little much. Especially my mum."
"Are you kidding? They were wonderful. I don't know why I was so worried in the first place. I just hope they liked me as much as I liked them."
"Oh they totally loved you. And so do I."
"Liam." She says with a warning look as she always does when I reach my 'I love you' limit for the day. I try to sneak it in by not saying it directly but she always catches me.
"Fine. I'll just show you instead." I say with a wink before leaning down to kiss her. When she doesn't respond I trail my mouth down to her neck. Unconsciously she leans her head to the side, letting me graze her soft skin with my lips and occasionally my teeth, driving her crazy in the process. With her temporarily distracted, I'm able to lead her to my bed where I push her down gently and continue.
