Driving to Liv and Lexie's apartment from the airport I can hardly contain my eagerness. I'm sitting in the passenger seat of the car we rented, practically bouncing out of my seat while Niall drives. I know it's stupid, I know it's only been a week, but I've missed Liv like crazy. We've talked a few times on the phone and over text but it's not the same. I can't wait to have her in my arms again.

"Can ya stop drumming your fingers like that? It's annoying as hell!" Niall complains.

"Sorry man. I'm just excited." I apologize and grab my coffee to take a sip, just to have something to do with my hands.

"I get it." He says, letting me know, he knows exactly how I feel.

"I don't understand how you and Lexie do it. I'm going completely mad missing Liv and its only been just over a week."

"It's hard. Trust me. But it's worth it. Besides, it's not like we're gonna have to deal with it too much longer." He says cryptically.

"What do you mean?" I ask, puzzled.

"Well she finally told Liv, so I guess I can tell you now. Lexie is moving to London in a few months. She got a job with Arsenal FC and everything." He explains.

"Seriously? That's awesome! Is she moving in with us?"

"Oh no. She made it very clear that she was getting her own place and not letting me help her out and all that. It's ridiculous but I love her so I gotta go along with it." He says with a laugh.

"Hey! Maybe the girls can get a place together. I'm sure Liv would love to get out of that small room of hers. I know she feels the same way about her independence as Lexie does. It would be perfect."

"Yeah I'm sure that would be great. But is Liv even planning on staying in London? The way Lexie was talking, she made it seem like she wasn't sure."

"We haven't exactly talked about it. I don't know. I guess I kind of just assumed she would."

"Well you should probably figure that out before you start making plans. That's all I'm saying."

I shut up after that. I knew Liv needed some space but it never crossed my mind that she would actually move back home, permanently. I thought that after everything we had been through, we were finally in a good place. Was I completely delusional?

The drive from the airport isn't that long but the lack of scenery makes it seem like it takes forever. I thought I grew up in a rural area but this is on a completely other level. Once we get out of Indianapolis there is literally nothing but fields. I'm relieved when I finally see the exit sign for Muncie. The town is pretty small and seems to revolve solely around the university. It doesn't take long until the GPS guides us to the girls' apartment, just off campus.

They know we're coming today but we ended up taking an earlier flight than planned so we could surprise them. It's only 10 am here so it's highly possible that they aren't even awake yet. I knock on the door loudly and we stand back while we wait for a response.

When Lexie opens the door, it's clear that we pulled off our surprise. She pulls Niall inside and practically jumps on him when she sees him. I quietly sneak past them to go upstairs and wake up Liv. I see one room with the door open and an empty bed which I assume is Lexie's. I turn the knob to the other bedroom and sure enough Liv is sprawled across the middle of her bed, sound asleep. I've always found it amazing how such a small body can take up so much space. Whenever we sleep together she always starts out curled in to my chest and by the next morning I'm always pushed near the edge.
