Lexie
When I pull up outside the airport I immediately spot Liv waiting, bags in hand. I quickly put my car in park and jump out to greet her.
"Thank you so much for picking me up on such short notice!" She says while she flings her arms around me for a hug.
"You'll just have to pay for the pizza tonight to make up for it." I tell her, hugging her back.
"Deal. " She agrees with a laugh. We put her bags into my trunk and get in the car to head back to Muncie.
"So what prompted your spur of the moment trip anyways? Trouble in paradise?" I ask after several minutes of silence.
"Lexie, don't start with me." She warns.
"I'm just saying. You meet his family and all of a sudden you just HAVE to come home?"
"Because I have to help you move out. And see friends and family I haven't seen in four months." She starts to reason but I give her a look. "And maybe because his mom spooked me with talk of moving to London and looking forward to having me around for a long time." She finally admits.
"I knew it." I say, only slightly smug.
"I need to figure out how I feel and what it means."
"And you can't do that with Liam around you clouding your judgment with his soulful brown eyes, bulging biceps and magic ten inch."
"I wasn't going to put it that way but yes, exactly. I just need to know how I feel before we get too deep into this. I don't want to hurt him. Look, can we not talk about this right now? I'm exhausted." She asks almost desperately. I agree and we spend the rest of the ride catching up and making plans for the week. I decide now probably isn't the best time to bring up the decision I've made.
I'm moving to London in July. After my talk with Niall in Georgia I thought it over long and hard. I didn't want to make any decisions until I knew I could find a job over there and support myself. Moving in with Niall and living off of him was the last thing I wanted so I put in my resume with just about every sports team in London. After several phone interviews I decided to take a job with Arsenal Football Club. Initially I'd had my sights set on Chelsea but after I found out Niall had put in a good word for me, I turned down the job they offered me. I wanted to do this on my own. I'll just be an operations intern. I'll be helping make sure all the games and any other events the team puts on run smoothly. It's not much but it's a start. At least it's paid.
When we get home Liv immediately throws herself on the smaller couch in our living room that she claimed as her own when we moved in here two years ago. Many evenings were spent here binge watching Grey's Anatomy and any other show we could convince each other the watch. A few of those evenings were spent watching This is Us and San Siro and gushing over how hot the guys were. Who would've thought a few months later we would be dating Liam and Niall and be good friends with the others?
She falls asleep almost as soon as she plops down. I try to fall asleep too but I'm not nearly tired enough so after about 30 minutes of staring at the ceiling I take the opportunity to go upstairs and call Niall.
"Hey gorgeous." He answers, immediately putting a smile on my face. "Shit hold on. Liam wants me to put it on speaker." He explains. I hear shuffling in the background
"Hey Lexie. Did you guys make it back from the airport ok?" Liam asks. The concern in his voice is adorable. I don't know why Liv is being so hesitant. He's so good for her.
"Yeah, we made it back about an hour ago. Liv is already asleep on the couch." I explain to him and lie down on my bed, ready to answer his 20 questions.
