Jiang Luo returned home to unexpectedly find Meng Xianxian waiting for her at the door. Meng Xianxian's long, slender legs were adorned with black, heeled sandals. Under the streetlights, her tall and slim figure was accentuated.

"Jiang Luo, you're finally back."

"How long have you been here? Why didn't you tell me?"

"Not long, I just got here. I came to do homework with you."

Meng Xianxian walked over and enthusiastically linked arms with Jiang Luo. Noticing the bag she was carrying, she asked curiously, "What did you buy?"

"Oh, just some lingerie."

"Why didn't you ask me to come with you? I need to buy some bras too."

"You were at X Community earlier. I saw you were busy, so I didn't call you," Jiang Luo said awkwardly.

"That's true. You're so considerate."

Meng Xianxian followed Jiang Luo into the house, easily finding her way to her room and placing her backpack on the desk chair. "So the friend you were waiting for outside the milk tea shop is the one who went lingerie shopping with you?"

Jiang Luo suddenly felt guilty and nervously nodded, "Uh-huh."

Thankfully, Meng Xianxian didn't press further and took out her math workbook.

Jiang Luo peeled a piece of orange and handed it to her, then took out her own workbook, focusing on her assignments on the small couch.

"This weekend, let's go to the internet cafe and play Audition," Meng Xianxian said, clearly uninterested in homework as she twirled a pen between her fingers.

"Sure."

"I'll buy you two skins. The default outfit you're wearing is so ugly; people will look down on you."

"No, no, that's not necessary," Jiang Luo refused quickly, but then thought about what Meng Xianxian said. She didn't want to drag her down or be looked down upon, so she changed her mind. "I'll buy them myself. I'll pick a couple when we go."

"No worries, we're best friends," Meng Xianxian smiled. "By the way, you've been in the street dance team for a while, but you haven't come with us to dance at X Community yet. Let's go next time?"

"Really?"

Jiang Luo's biggest wish since starting high school was to join the street dance team and learn with the other girls. After all, in those days, being able to dance street dance was a really cool thing.

"I heard there's a threshold to perform on stage in the team. Do you think I'll be able to do it?" Jiang Luo asked with both excitement and caution.

"Don't worry, it's nothing. Just a word from me, and you can stand by during practice and learn from us. I'll teach you too, and you'll pick it up in no time."

"That's amazing! Xianxian, you're the best!" Jiang Luo couldn't contain her excitement. She rushed over, hugging Meng Xianxian and rubbing her cheek against hers. "I love you so much!"

Meng Xianxian hugged her back, laughing. "I love you too, sweetheart."

"Okay, it's settled! I'll come watch your practices every day from now on."

"Sounds good. No problem."

At 10 p.m., after finishing their homework, Meng Xianxian said goodbye. Jiang Luo walked her downstairs and watched as she disappeared into the alley.

At that moment, Jiang's father arrived, pushing his fried rice noodle cart, its wheels squeaking as he parked beside the building.

"Dad, you're home early today."
