The next day, for the first time, Wei Ying woke up before Wangji. Slowly, he opens his eyes and realizes he's lying on top of someone. At first, nothing comes to mind, but then, gradually, he remembers everything that happened and looks at Wangji. He says, "I didn’t know that a handsome snake like me would fall for someone as ordinary as you. But now that I have, you’re not going anywhere."

Saying this, Wei Ying continues to look at Wangji. After a while, Wangji also opens his eyes, and upon seeing Wei Ying like this, he becomes distressed. Memories of everything that happened last night come rushing back, and he feels as though he took advantage of Wei Ying. He thinks he should never have come. He quickly gets up and sits on the floor, asking for forgiveness from Wei Ying, saying, "Please forgive me, this is all my fault." As he says this, tears begin to fall from his eyes.
Wei Ying looks at him and, with a bit of playful drama, says, "Lan Wangji, what’s the use of saying sorry? Now who will marry me? You’ve taken away my innocence."
Wangji, upon hearing this, becomes sad and says, "I will take on your responsibility."
Wei Ying, approaching Wangji, replies, " you will marry me . You know I’m a snake. Does that not bother you?"
Wangji says, "No, I don’t mind at all.
"And your family, won’t they?" Weiying ask
Wangji responds, "No one will find out."
"But you don’t love me, and I don’t want to be in a loveless marriage," weiying says.
Wangji reassured him, "That’s not true."
"Meaning, you do love me?" Weiying asks
Wangji node and says yes
Wei Ying, hearing this, becomes happy and says, "Since when?"
"From the first day I saw you. I didn’t want to be apart from you, so I asked you to come here. I didn’t understand why I did that at first, but now everything makes sense," Wangji explains.
Weiying is surprised and confused, realizing that wangji had the same feelings. Wei Ying could have left Wangji but chose to stay, so weiying asked, "So, you do love me?"

Wangji, thinking that after hearing this, Wei Ying might never speak to him again and would leave, is surprised when things turn out differently. Instead, Wei Ying quickly goes to him, hugs him tightly, and says, "I love you too, I love you.
