Two months pass in a blur, with Wei Ying constantly causing trouble for Lan Wangji. In those two months, Wei Ying breaks almost every rule possible, but somehow, Wangji always finds a way to cover for him. Despite Wei Ying’s antics, Wangji remains by his side, protecting him silently.
Today was different. The entire day passed without any mischief from Wei Ying. Normally, Wei Ying was full of energy, always pulling pranks or stirring up some kind of trouble. But today, there was none of that. Wangji couldn’t help but feel a strange emptiness, the quiet unsettling him. He wondered if Wei Ying was unwell, as it was unlike him to be so still.
Concerned, Wangji hurried through his duties, eager to return to his room and check on Wei Ying. His mind raced with possibilities, hoping that his friend was alright, and ready to do whatever it took to help.
But as soon as Wangji enters the room, he is shocked because Wei Ying was lying there almost naked, with black spots appearing on his skin. At first, Wangji is troubled to see Wei Ying like this and thinks he shouldn’t have come in, but then, to help him, he moves closer.
Wei Ying was lying there, completely intoxicated, screaming in pain. Slowly, he opens his eyes and sees Wangji standing in front of him. He quickly grabs Wangji's hand and says, “Help me.”
“Wei Ying, I’ll call someone for help.”
“No, Wangji! This is my transformation. It happens when I turn 18. If you bring someone, they will find out that I’m a snake.”
“Then what should I do?”
“Help me.”
“How?” Wangji asks, confused, but in the next moment, he falls silent because Wei Ying was kissing him.

Wangji is very surprised by this and starts trying to push Wei Ying away from him. But Wei Ying wasn’t letting go. After a while, Wangji starts feeling a strange heat as well, and because of that, he begins to kiss Wei Ying too. He kissed him slowly, and then gently laid Wei Ying down on the bed, saying, “Wei Ying, I’m asking you for the last time. After this, I won’t stop.”

Wei Ying replied, “Who told you to stop?” Saying this, he pulled Wangji closer to him. And what happened next, you know."
