SELENE LOVED SPORTS,
but she couldn't understand Cullens' obsession with baseball. It was normal for the them to play in a storm—for the effects, obviously. One thing the little siren also couldn't understand, was her connection with the precise shape-shifter that goes by the name Paul Lahote. And much to his own surprise (and Sam's), Paul's complain about being one of the first and last wolves on the patrol, seemed to ease. He was third in command, after Jared and their alpha Sam, he too had responsibilities, but took over to patrol whole day only for one reason.

And there she was, sitting by the end of the creek with her legs swinging loosely over the end. The familiar scent of her mate entered her nostrils almost a mile away where Paul chose to shift into his human form and got dressed, to easily talk to her. "You don't have to hide, I don't bite." Selene said with a chuckle, her head lowered on her feet as Paul sat crisscrossed on his end of the creek.

"Right. And I don't faze into a giant dark silvered wolf." He answered with the same sarcasm she had laced in her words. "What are you doing here? I thought you patrol at night,"

"What? Did Selly want to see if one of the prettiest shape-shifter has imprinted on her?" Paul teased, letting his body weight on his hands which rested behind him on the ground. Selene stopped swinging her legs and shot her eyes up to his. Selly? Really?

"Don't flatter yourself, Paulie. I asked nicely, and I don't like to repeat myself." She said the last statement with a sigh, averting her glance back onto her thighs. "Jared got sick, so Sam sent me to patrol the whole day and night." Paul lied. Jared was perfectly fine at home, enjoying these free few days of not having to bore his mind out on patrol, snuggled into his bed. Selene let out a hum, and felt a drop of rain hit her arm which made the girl's hair stand up. It was time.

Selene stood up, much to Paul's surprise who watched her confusingly. "You should return to your patrol. I have a baseball game to attend."

Paul tilted his head to the side, eyeing her cautiously. "A storm is coming," He stated the obvious. Selene nodded, "That means the game is about to begin. See you later, perrito." She said with a thick accent, letting the r's be heard as she turned towards the forest and was gone in a matter of seconds.

Selene ran through the forest as fast as her legs could take her, and thankfully, she arrived just in time when Edward joined the rest with Bella by his side. Esme handed Selene the baseball cap and tossed over the ball to her which she caught with ease, not even bothered to look in her direction, as the mother of the house walked with Bella—arm linked around hers.

"Glad you're here. We need an umpire." Esme expressed. Emmett grabbed the ball from Selene's hands as she continued to fix her cap, which made the siren send him a glare. "She thinks we cheat."

"I know you cheat."

"Yeah, 'cause they don't know how to hide it." Selene said, stepping over to Bella's other side. Esme tilted her head towards Selene, motioning her to go warm up before the game begun. The girl walked over to Emmett as he kept jumping in air. The Siren jumped onto his back from behind, choking him with her arm around his neck. Not too hard, but again, not too soft.

A lighting struck through the air, "It's time." Alice announced and everyone got into their positions, Rosalie going first. The pixie haired vampire position herself to the side, throwing her arm back and lifting her leg into the air before releasing the ball towards the blonde. Rosalie struck it with ease just as the thunder cracked.

The ball flew all the way into the forest, to which Edward reached in matter of seconds and threw it back to the rest. Esme caught it just as Rosalie slid against the ground to reach her. "You're out." Bella clarified, "Out!" Emmett shouted, earning a glare from his girlfriend. "Babe, come on, it's just a game."
