In this story of chaos and mystery, watch as the pieces of the story unfold by each character as they tell there side of the events in the town of Highland.
After I get done at Mr. Connors, I head to my boyfriend Korey's home. I drive there myself so that I can leave if he gets aggressive...Valery what are you doing? I don't get why I'm trying to make him seem like he's not that bad when I know that he has this poisonous demeanor to him. I'm trying to not let his poison suffocate me and it be lethal to me. I know if it goes too far or too south that Mr. Connors will have my back. Let's just hope it at least doesn't come to that.
As I'm driving I remember that I needed to pick up something from the store and so I see a shop and parking in the parking lot then head inside. I walk up and down the aisles of the store as I do looking around not only browsing the products the store has to offer but also my surroundings as a store is where both good and bad things can happen depending on who talks to you or what happens and to me, people seek more approachable in a store. I don't know if it is, the most, just always seems to be.
I needed to pick up some peanut butter since we were out, and some bread and chips of different brands and varieties. Such as Lay's & Pringles the standard chips that I love and are amazing to enjoy. I look over and I see a man that's unfamiliar to me but he's wearing a grey suit jacket and grey suit pants with a white dress shirt and a black tie but also dark black shades. He looks about maybe in his later 30's to early 40's and he's caucasian aka white but it's like a minimal tan white.
His hair is black, medium length down to the base of his neck and slicked back. Very sharp looking individual but sticks out like sore thumb. You really couldn't of camouflaged better? Not even a Utah shirt and jeans or something? Was he following me from Mr. Connors' office? Has he been tailing me? How long has he been following me and was it just today or has there been other days and I just didn't notice? So many questions race through my head as I appear calm and unfazed on the surface as I just continue shopping.
One thing that you need in the business of PI work is an amazing poker face. It's essential if you sit in with Mr. Connors' from interviews to interrogations. For us it's business but for the person on the other side, it's personal. They some of them like to make it personal to us, and get under our skins during interrogations especially. I get my things and leave somewhat quick but not too fast and of course he follows so I try to evade and I eventually leave and get in my car and sigh as I drive off to first my house then to putt things away then Korey's house.
*** KOREY
"Where is Valery?" I think to myself as I wait for her to get here. She should have been here by now. I just start playing some PlayStation and relax and hope she'll be here soon. After a good while like about 25 minutes later, Valery comes through the door and I'm not gonna lie I was peeved that she was this late. "Where the hell have you been!?!" I burst out as soon as the door clothes and the look on her face is an expression of unfazed and calm.
"I went to the store after being at Mr. Connors' to pick up some stuff. Not that big of a deal, Korey." I scoff at that, "It is that big of a deal! What if something happened to you? What if you were with another guy and I didn't know it, huh?" She walks over and sits on the couch. "Can you please just drop it I have a lot going through my head right now?" What is going through her head? She doesn't look like a lot is, so I wonder what could be it.
"What's on your mind?" I ask and then she look over at me, "There was this older guy, He was possibly following me." I try to hold back my laughter, but it's no use and a laugh bursts out. "You?! Why would someone be following you? You probably just imagined it." She shakes her head, "This is not funny, Korey! This is serious no I didn't imagine it! As I was leaving, I had to lose him and I even tried to do some kind of heat run so that I wasn't followed back here." I shake my head, "A what!?"
"A heat run, I don't know if it's real or not but I hear about it on the show Graceland and it's were you do a bunch of turns and speed changes so that you can make sure that you aren't being tailed and I wasn't." I'm so bewildered on how she knows this stuff like no normal human knows these things. "Look I'm kinda sorry for laughing but it's kinda ridiculous, Val." Without any hesitation she speaks back up, "You're the ridiculous one, Korey! This could be a serious matter and you're laughed!" I watch as she gets up.
"I'm out of here! I just wanted to confide in my boyfriend about the situation I just dealt with that was scared for me and you laughed in my face, don't call or text me the rest of the day! Not under you can mature and talk to me with decency and respect." She says again calm and unfazed no emotion but her tone their was then she walks out with her bag and leaves getting in her car, "What a drama queen." I think out loud and role my eyes, man if she was smoking hot and did have nice features I wouldn't put up with this and we would be done.
After a couple mins of her being gone, there's a knock at the door and there stands the gentlemen in the grey suit and I chuckle and smile. "Did I do well, Korey?" He asks me then I nod my head. "You did excellent. Just continue to tail and follow her and you'll get your pay. Like I started with watch out for Glenn Connors he's good and can easily sniff you, also revealing yourself was a ballsy move but I respect it just don't do it again. She's paranoid more now so this could be a good think or a bad thing. Just do your job and continue on."
