Y/N's POV:
We approach the cable car in silence, trying to make as little noise as possible to avoid trouble.
Seeing that Alex is having trouble keeping up, I ask DogDay, "Can you carry my brother? He's having trouble running."
He nods and catches him in mid-air, stopping a cry of surprise just in time. I sigh in relief. We finally arrive at our destination, enter the cable car and start to climb slowly. Suddenly, I see Poppy and Player in the distance, but something is wrong. Player is being held back by Kickin, while the other Smiling Critters are staring at him with hatred. It takes me a few seconds to realize that he probably planned everything to give us more time to escape.
I see him nod discreetly, as if to say, "Keep going, don't look back." I then turn to DogDay, who seems to understand the situation. He tries to get out of the booth, but I stop him just in time. It would ruin the distraction that Player is giving us. DogDay drops to the ground, knowing that we can't do anything when we're halfway there. I put a hand on his shoulder and pull him into my arms. He hugs me back, trembling slightly. I don't understand why he cares so much about Player; I'll have to ask him someday.
We finally arrive at our destination and head towards the entrance of the Game Station. Hopefully Mommy isn't on the Prototype's side. We continue towards the exit, until a hand grabs my leg and pulls me into the air. DogDay shouts my name as my brother holds CatNap back, who struggles violently. Mommy appears in my field of vision and looks at me in disbelief.
She asks me, surprised: "Y/N!? Oh, I'm sorry, I thought they were intruders."I answer her with a little laugh: "It's nothing, but we're in a hurry. Can you put me down?"
She nods then gently places me on the ground. I then take CatNap back in my arms, which attracts her attention. Looking at him with hatred, I try to calm her down, but nothing works. She grabs him in her hand and lifts him to her height.
She says in a threatening voice: "So, if I understand correctly, it's you who hurt her when she was always there for you when she was a child?"
She is about to hurt her, but I shout, worried: "Mommy, stop! He doesn't remember me, he has episodes of memory loss! »
She looks at me, surprised, and turns her attention back to CatNap, who is completely terrified. Who wouldn't be? He is very weak and can barely maintain his normal size.
She places him back in my arms, saying in a firm voice, "If you hurt her again, I will kill you. Is that clear?"
He nods quickly, then hides his face against my collarbone. I look at him, surprised, but don't say anything as we continue walking. I understood, indirectly, that something was wrong. I had seen worry in Mommy's eyes, but she let us go.
We continue to the exit. The stress is at its peak as we finally arrive at my car. CatNap and DogDay watch it curiously as I unlock it, then gently place Alex in it, who has finally fallen asleep.
DogDay asks me, not reassured by my vehicle: "Are you sure it's safe to leave with that? It looks dangerous to me..."
I smile at him tenderly, then answer him in a reassuring tone: "Don't worry, I'm good at driving. You and CatNap don't need to worry so much."
The orange canine seems to calm down, but CatNap remains tense at the idea of getting into my car. I gently take him in my arms and place him on my lap once seated. I notice that his eyes are dilated, a sign that he is not comfortable. I pet him for a moment, then decide to turn on the engine.
