Y/N's POV:
I look at him curiously, the bags in my arms, not really understanding why he keeps staring at me. But that doesn't matter for now.
He slowly approaches, and intrigued, I ask him: "CatNap, do you want something to look at me like that?"
He shakes his head in denial, then suddenly jumps on my shoulder, adding a little weight. I smile at him trying to keep his balance, then I head to the kitchen with the two balls of fur to prepare some breakfast before leaving. Might as well eat something, since we have about a four hour drive ahead of us. So it makes sense to prepare a meal, especially since we won't be able to stop on the way.
In the kitchen, I approach the stove and take out everything I need. I grab some eggs and bacon that I start to cook. Meanwhile, I take out plates and cutlery that I place on the table.
About ten minutes later, everything is ready. I then shout: "ALEX, DOGDAY, AT THE TABLE!"
They arrive quickly and sit down, devouring their plates with appetite. I watch them smiling while eating in turn. Once my breakfast is finished, I get up and head to the sink to wash the dishes immediately. Even if we have to leave quickly, I prefer not to leave anything lying around until we return. DogDay approaches after a few minutes and hands me his plate as well as those of the others. I take them with a small smile, wash them and put them away.
CatNap then looks at me and asks:
"When are we leaving? It's not that I don't like your house, but I would like to be as far away from the factory as possible... at least until I'm back to normal. »I answer him in a serious tone: "Don't worry, we're leaving soon. I'll just put the bags in the car and we can go. At this time, no one is awake yet, so we shouldn't have any problems."
Then, a little uncertain, I add: "On the other hand, DogDay, you'll have to pretend to be a stuffed animal in the car. CatNap, you can stay in your current form, DogDay it will be more complicated."
He nods quickly, confirming what I said. So I take the bags and leave the house to put them in the car. I unlock the vehicle, put the bags in and close the trunk. I then go back in to say that we are ready to leave. I take CatNap in my arms while DogDay and Alex follow me. We all get in the car and fasten our seat belts, except DogDay, who unfortunately has to stay with the bags.
Finally, I start the engine and we hit the road towards the highway. The vacation home is in the middle of the countryside, so it will take us at least two hours to get there. I hope DogDay can hold it if he needs to go to the bathroom. I drive calmly for several minutes until CatNap starts to move, attracting my attention.
He stretches slowly and then looks around. Seeing that we still haven’t arrived, he asks, still half asleep: “When are we there? I need to walk a bit, my legs are all numb.”
I look at him, amused, then laugh softly before answering: “I thought you would sleep the whole way like a real cat. I was wrong.”
I continue in an apologetic tone: “To answer your question, we still have at least an hour and a half of driving left. We can’t stop, especially since DogDay can’t turn back into a stuffed animal on the way.” »
He pouts, then glances toward the backseat where Alex seems lost in thought. Curious, he asks, “Where is he? Shouldn’t he be with the little one?”
I sigh and explain that I must have put DogDay in the trunk, and that he’s really the one who’s the worst off right now. CatNap nods, then walks to the edge of the seat and jumps on my lap.
He lies down immediately, muttering, “Wake me up when we get there.”
I look at him, surprised by his behavior since we left the factory. He seems to be feeling better. I turn my attention back to the road, looking for a deserted place to let them walk a little. But nothing... There's only an hour left. Hmm...
