Location -The Kindom of Aeloria
Season- Winter
Time of day- morningContinuing
-Elunara POV-The room went quiet and everyone stood there in complete shock even me until Taurion spoke up. "Your highness that is a unacceptable suggestion, the tradition of marriage between kin is no longer in practice any more and hasn't been for over 300 years in our clan" said Taurion, you could tell that he was deeply disturbed by this suggestion and so were a few others.
"It's out of practice but it is not illegal Conusler Taurion" he said, Taurion went quiet as my uncle was right.
Galadorn then turned to the elders around him. "It's been over 300 years since a true blood elf has been born, they are the ones who the prophecy spoke of, the ones who are going to heal our lands and bring peace and prosperity back to our people" he said.
"The prophecy never said the elf to heal our lands would be a true blood" said elder Thorin, Thorin is the head of the council and the oldest and most influential person on the council, he has been alive for 22 generations of my bloodlines rule. And has seen more war than anyone on the council which makes him to our people the wisest elf alive in the clan of the spirit elves.
Elder Thorin of Aeloria/- Head of the royal council
Species- Elven
Human Age- 700
Elven age- 7,000Note: ( There are 7 elf clans that will be named throughout the book, one of the 7 is the 1#- Spirit elves)
Note: ( Spirit Elves- The most powerful and important clan of elves who rule the lands and possess the ability to completely form bonds with spirits of all kinds thus giving them rare and powerful abilities)
Everyone's attention quickly shifted to Elder Thorin who was making his way down the few steps that lead up to the throne seats.
The sound of his walking stick hitting the carpeted floor with his every move echoed throughout the now quiet room.
My uncle looked shocked when he came face to face with Thorin.
"The prophecy stated that a powerful elf would save our lands, it doesn't have to be a true blood in fact it could very well be the queen herself" he said gesturing to me.
The mutters started up again, "Elder Thorin is right our queen is powerful maybe she is the one from the prophecy" said one elder, "Now that I think about It, I don't remember reading that the elf from the prophet would be a true blooded elf"
Note:( True Blooded Elf's- Basically just elf's born from a marriage between Kin, an old tradition that was believed to be the only way to produce the most powerful Heir)
With only a few words Thorin had turned the council against my uncles suggestion.
I felt relieved and grateful.
I gave Thorin a nod in which he returned.
My uncle looked heated you could see the clear anger on his face that he didn't even try to hide.
After my uncle left in a fit of anger I dismissed everyone from the council and sent Liora back to her room for the time being. As I watched elder Thorin leave with the others I couldn't help but wonder why he stepped up to help me when he has never done such a thing before.
"I don't understand" I said "What is it your grace?" Asked Taurion, "Elder Thorin, why did he help me I was under the impression that he was one of the many who did not agree with me becoming queen over my brothers" I pointed out as I walked over to the the large window that gives you a gorgeous view of the entire kingdom from up high.
"That is not true he was one of the ones who voted for you when the others kicked up a fuss to put it to a vote the day your father passed on his will" said Taurion which shocked me.
"He was?!" I replied shocked "Yes your majesty, There's something you should know about elder Thorin" said Taurion
"What is it?" I asked
"Thorin is.....well he's a rather stubborn old man and he is the type to usually stick to tradition, but above all else he knows when to put those personal habits and feelings aside and choose what's right for the people" said Taurion before walking over to me.
"That is why he chose to support you even when everyone around him was saying that is was traditional for the first born heir to take the throne when your father dies" said Taurion before looking me in the eyes.
"He knew that you were what was right for the people" Taurion finished with a smile.
I took a breath before looking away and gazing out of the window.
There has only ever been one time I doubted myself and that was the day of my fathers passing, Specifically when the will came out and everyone was in a frenzy about me being named the next heir over my oldest brother.
I consistently heard whispers about how it should've been Aranel. some even went as far as to say that the king was in a sate of delusion when he named me heir or he made a mistake and put my name down.
Any and every excuse to make sense out of me being named the next ruler.
The doubt only spread further when my eldest brother who once when we were kids promised that he would slay all my enemies started to look at me as his.
And my youngest brother who I told myself I would never turn my back on turned his on me.
That was the day that the doubt blossomed like roses all over my body and it took experienced hands to free me of the thorny veins that were beginning to wrap around my neck.
Those hands were Taurions, he had been by my side since day one telling me that I am good enough and for that I am eternally grateful.
"Thanks you Taurion" I said he nodded "Just doing my job your majesty" he replied before leaving me to think alone in the throne room.
