-Elunara POV-
I sat at the table with Liora as we both drink tea as we talked, I was starting to get closer to her and in such a short time I've also learned a few little things about her which I am glad about.
I didn't want this marriage to end up full of resentment because we both did it out of duty and obligation, that's how things were for my father and mother. Don't get me wrong they came to love each other but even that wasn't enough in the end.
I don't want that with Liora because I truly fancy her, I have since the moment I saw her, at first I was only thinking of my role when I agreed to accept the betrothal but since she's been here I've started to feel......different in a way.
"Do you read your majesty?" She asked I leaned forward resting my chin on my hand as I looked at her "Luna" I corrected her.
She sighed "Do you read Luna?" She repeated fixing her mistake, I keep telling her now that we are married there's no need to be so formal.
"No not much these days, but I did when I was a child" I said, she smiled "What type of stories did you like?" She asked "I use to read war strategy books and things of that sort, they weren't really stories, well not the kind you seem to like anyways" I said nodding to her book she chuckled, "I see, you have many great story books in your library you should try reading some" she said "Only if you'd read them to me" I replied which made her blush, she's so easily flustered and she talks to me way more then before.
And she's started to seek me out on her own. I honestly love the attention.
"Your much different then I expected" she said, "Oh yeah? What were you expecting a 8 foot 9 savage beast, I'm sure that's how human describe us" I said rolling my eyes at the thought she chuckled and shook her head.
"I mean you are very tall but none of you are beast" she said, I smiled "You might just be the only human in history who thinks that, humans usually hate what's different but you've embraced everything with an open mind and open heart, I admire that" I said as I looked into her eyes.
Just then there was a knock followed by the sound of footsteps, "Your majesty" said Jen, I sighed kind of annoyed that she just ruined our moment.
"What is it Jen?" I asked "It's about your brother" she said gaining my attention "Aranel?" I asked "No Prince Thalion, I just received word that he's been spotted at wild win tavern causing a bit of a ruckus" said Jen "Have the guards bring him to the palace" I said as I ran a hand down my face. "I tried that already twice already your majesty and each time the guards came back bloody and bruised" I sighed stressed things were just starting to calm down after my uncle and now my brother is back in town.
"Have a spirit horse ready for me later today, I'll ride out to go and get him" I said Jen looked worried "Are you sure your majesty? I could send someone else" she said I shook my head "My brother will beat the hell out of anyone you send so it's better that I go alone, I will be cloaked so there's no need to really worry" I informed her she bowed "As you wish your majesty, just be careful" said Jen I nodded "Aren't i always?" I asked "No" said Jen causing Liora to laugh.
I smiled seeing her laughing.
Night came and on my horse I made my way to the tavern I was told my younger brother was occupying.
When I walked in the smell of sweat and boozes immediately hit my nose as it lingered in the air, people cheered and drink, men argued over card games and bets while others talked with one another at tables in the far back.
