Location -The Kindom of Aeloria
Season- Winter
Time of day- evening-Lioras POV-
I stood in front of at least a 100 knights both male and female and all of which were elven. I turned to the queens royal adviser Jen who had been tasked with helping me choose a commander for my personal queens guard.
This was overwhelming and the more I looked over the more nervous.
Just then Jen leaned down towards my ear "Don't worry your majesty they are all formidable warriors no matter who you choose I can insure you that you will be well protected" she said.
I swallowed hard as I looked up at them all.
"Attention!" Shouted Jen stepping up which surprised me.
All the knights immediately gave her their full attention. "This Liora formally known as the youngest princess from the kingdom of Drakonia, now known as the second queen of Aeloria, you have all been called here by order of the queen for an opportunity to be chosen by her wife for her personal guard" said Jen, as soon as she mentioned who I was and where I was from the atmosphere changed.
People began to look around at each other with scowls and frowns of their faces.
"She's human?!" said one of the knight.
"From the Drakonia too, she's our enemy why is she even here" said another.
"This is an insult to her ancestors I'm out of here" said one more before leaving. Not long after many of the others started to one by one and in a matter of seconds a group of 100 turned into just two people.
I was embarrassed and I realized that the queen was right, my life here isn't going to be as quiet as the one I had in Drakonia when the people just ignored my existence.
I sighed and was about to leave because I thought the last two were going to leave as well but to my surprise a familiar voice called my name gaining my attention.
The two knights who were left began taking off their helmets.
I waited until eventually their faces were revealed and I recognized them both as the two who brought me in my brother here.
I remembered their names being Amano and Vaelith the two brothers, one older one younger.
"Y-Your not leaving with the rest?" I asked Amano shook his head before stepping forward and kneeling to me soon after but not without hesitation Vaelith did the same.
"We give ourselves to you, as your swords and your shields, we pledge our loyalty to you and only you the second queen of, Aeloria" said Amano bowing his head.
Jen then whispered in my ear, "What do you think your majesty? Will you accept them they are just as skilled as any of the others if not more" said Jen. I looked back down at the two man kneeling in front of me and felt grateful.
"Yes" I said, Jen then stepped forward and the brothers immediately stood up.
I watched as she pinned a Pin on both their chest as she spoke. "You Amano Eldarion will be the queen's commander and leader of her royal guard, and you Vaelith Eldarion will be the lieutenant, second in command of the queens royal guard" said Jen before stepping back.
"We will not let you down" said Amano with a bow.
We made our way back into the palace, Jen and I walked up front while Amano and Vaelith stayed close but not too close and lingered in the back of us.
"You got lucky" said Jen suddenly.
"How so?" I asked
"Your life would've been in danger with any of those other knights" she replied but I was still confused.
"But their jobs would've been to protect me right?" I said "Yes, a knights loyalty lies with their master and with their kingdom, you want to know how that's bad for you?" She asked.
I nodded.
"It's bad for you because you are not from this kingdom, a knights master usually is so their loyalty is absolute, if any of those knights would've stayed they probably would've waited for the right moment and killed you despite their sworn loyalty because they would've believed that they were doing the kingdom justice" she explained.
"You got lucky with Amano and Vaelith, Amano is honorable, brilliant and brave while Vaelith.......well he's mean and he hates humans but he would follow his brother to his grave and he's not the type to harm anyone who hasn't done harm themselves, they are both loyal people who would rather fall on their swords then betray their oaths, so you are safe with them" said Jen, I thanked her and smiled I was feeling kind of nervous about that especially knowing that not all elf's are kind to humans like the ones I've met so far.
Time passed and I decided to check out the library for the rest of the day until the queen is no longer busy with her meetings as Jen told me.
I walked into the large room and scanned around in amazement at how grand it was. Vaelith was with me, him and his brother takes turns guarding me and they decided that Vaelith would get the first watch.
I walked over to the selves and picked a book that looked interesting and opened it. The words looked different but I was still able to read them.
"The awakening of one's aura is the true awakening of one's soul" said one line in the book.
"What does that mean" I asked out loud to myself, just then the library doors opened and the sound of boots hitting the shiny wooden floors could be heard, I turned my head to see who it was and to my surprise it was the Queen Luna.
"Your majesty" said Vaelith with a bow. Her majesty smiled when she seen him, "I knew you two would be the ones who chose to be her knights" she said proudly "Amano chose I just followed his lead" said Vaelith. "Sure you did" said the queen with a knowing smirk, they seemed closer then I expected. "Anyways I'd like to steal Liora from you, you can go for now" said her majesty Luna, Vaelith bowed before leaving. Once he was gone she stepped closer to me slowly making my heart racing as I looked at her in confusion until she looked down in my hands at the book.
"You like books?" She asked "Yes quite a lot actually" I replied she smiled, "I see but you won't be able to read that one" she Said.
What did she mean? I literally just read it a minute ago. "Hm?, but I did a few minutes ago" I asked confused she raised an eyebrow, "What?" She asked "The awakening of one's aura is the true awakening of one's soul, the theory that one exists because of the other is wrong" I said reading a line from the book.
Luna stood there In shock. "You can read the Elven language?!" She asked I frowned at her.
This isn't elven it's English.
I looked down at the book again and it was like the letters changed and the book truly was in a different language.
