"Why are you crying?" biglang sulpot ni Mom.

"Mommy..." I answered nervously.

"Nagkekwentuhan kami ni Leila tungkol sa buhay ko sa probinsya at dahil nga emosyonal itong anak mo'y naiyak sa kwento ko." Nanay Bella lied.

"Oh, take a shower, Leila, we have an important meeting at SCC." she said and left.

"Sige na, maligo ka na." Nanay Bella also left me in the bathroom so I started taking a shower.

Then, I slipped on my pink blazer, pairing it with a simple white crop top and wide-leg white jeans. The nude strappy heels gave me a boost, while the pink shoulder bag completed the look.

Ready for our meeting at Sterling Crown Corporation, I felt confident yet effortlessly chic.

I took the pink iPhone I didn't want to use because I had no choice. After I got dressed and ironed my hair, I got out and went straight to the car.

Mom and I had separate cars, Mom used a sports car and mine was a Lamborghini.

Sinundan ko lang ang car ni Mom hanggang sa mahinto kami sa malaking company.

Mom got out of her car so I got out too and some bodyguards took our car to put it in the parking lot.

It's my first time to enter Mom's company, the interior is beautiful and huge.

Lahat ng mga empleyado ay nagsisitunguan kapag dumadaan kami. May bodyguards din sa likod namin at hindi na bago ito sa'kin.

Umakyat ang elevator sa 15th floor at pumasok kami sa pang-17 na room. Hanggang ngayon, hindi pa din nawawala ang pananakit ng legs ko.

Nakatungo akong pumasok sa conference room dahil kinakabahan ako at kailangan kong kagatin ang labi ko para maiwasan ang kaba.

"Good morning, Mr. Neville and Mrs. Reinara, I'm sorry it took us so long."

"It's fine, Mrs. Lindsey," sagot ni Mr. Neville.

I looked up because they were right in front of us. Instead of smiling, my reaction was shock and I was like a statue when I saw who was in front of me. Even he was shocked to see me.

Mrs. Reinara nodded, her gaze steady as she responded. "Of course, we’re fully committed to this partnership."

I wasn't focused on the meeting because I was focused on Rick, he was also looking at me.

"Restructuring is understandable. We’d like to ensure that our family’s influence remains integral. We’ve invested a lot in this company."

Rick's parents quickly exchanged glances. I know they are protected in their position, like my mother.
