Twenty minutes later the doorbell rang and he very gently had to move a sleeping Taylor out of his arms to get up. He carefully placed her down on the couch and she didn't even stir. She was obviously exhausted. Getting the food and quickly setting up the table he made sure that everything was perfect before he would have to wake her. He even lit some candles to create a comfortable and slightly romantic ambiance.

After getting everything ready he walked over to the couch, taking in the sight of her, curled into his hoodie that she was wearing, her lips slightly parted and a tiny frown on her forehead. Was she in pain?

"Tay, can you open your eyes sweet girl? Food's here." He said, very gently stroking her cheek. Her eyes fluttered shortly before she opened them, her forehead creasing even more now that she was awake. "It hurts." She whispered, tears welling up in her eyes but she was determined not to let them slip, shutting her eyes as tightly as she could. Without hesitating Travis got up and hurried into the bathroom, opening the cupboard and grabbing a bottle of painkillers before filling a cup of water and bringing both over to the couch where Taylor had now sat up. She was rubbing her ankle with shaky hands, tears now streaming down her cheeks. He was glad she had given up on pretending she was fine around him and that she wasn't scared of showing her feelings. Handing her the glass and painkillers he sat down next to her, gently rubbing her knee, not exactly knowing what else to do to help her. "Sorry." She whispered after a minute of silence. "What for sweetie?" he asked confused. "I- didn't mean to be whiny." She added quietly, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Tay, look at me. You're hurt, you're in pain, you're not whiny. Okay? You have every right to be uncomfortable and you're sure as hell allowed to complain about that. And now- as part of spoiling you, dinner is ready." He said, taking her by surprise as he picked her up and carried her over to the table, setting her down in her usual chair before taking his place opposite her. He couldn't help but smile as he saw her face light up at the sight of all the fast food in front of them.

"I didn't even know I was so hungry. Thank you Trav this looks amazing." She said, giving him a beautiful smile before grabbing some chicken tenders and fries. "You're welcome. I thought some comfort food might cheer you up."

After dinner it was evident that Taylor was close to falling asleep again. "You stay right where you are, I'll quickly load the dishwasher." He said, getting up and grabbing both their plates. "I can help, you've already done so much for me." She protested, getting up and carefully putting some weight on her right foot. "Nope, you sit back down Tay, we still have desert." He said proudly, taking the bowl she had picked up from her hands and pecking her lips before continuing to clean up.

"Fuck." She hissed as she accidently put a little too much weight on her foot as she attempted to take a step. "This is frustrating." She said, sitting back down and looking down at her lap. "I know it is. But I've been through this dozens of times because of football injuries, I got you. I'll make sure you won't get too bored I promise." He said, making her sit back down before placing a cupcake in front of her.

"Now try my creation." He added with a smirk, sitting down next to her. "Alright, let's see what you've got."

Picking up the cupcake she took a bite, closing her eyes to take in the taste. "Wow Trav this is amazing." She said honestly, taking another bite. For some reason he had actually managed not to screw this up. Everything else he had baked before today had either too much sugar or too much flour or too much butter in it but this cupcake was awesome.

"You're kidding right? I didn't have it in the oven too long? I didn't forget half of the ingredients?" he asked, a little surprised by her reaction. "No, they are really, really good. Try it." She gave back, lifting the cupcake to his mouth so he could take a bite. "I must say- I am an excellent baker. Thanks to you Tay, you're an incredible teacher." He said, making her smile.

He couldn't help but slowly lean in, pulling her into a soft, long kiss. She tasted sweet, her lips still covered in frosting. "Oh so that's what you meant by saying you'd make sure I won't get bored." She whispered, giggling. "Is that a problem for you?" he asked with a playful smirk. "Not at all." She replied, putting the cupcake down and laying her arms around his neck, starting to kiss him again. Without breaking the kiss he picked her up, her legs going around his waist, her chest tightly pressed against his as he carried her up the stairs.

As they reached the bedroom he gently laid her down on top of the covers. "I'll quickly put out the candles I'll be right back." He said, hurrying down the stairs and back into the kitchen. Ever since what had happened at Taylor's apartment in New York with Gracie and the candle incident both of them were a little scared of leaving any candles on, especially since all three cats where sneaking around somewhere in the house.

But when he returned, he found Taylor in the same position he had left her in, on top of the covers, fast asleep. He couldn't help but chuckle at the sight in front of him. She was so adorable. Very, very carefully he picked her up and placed her on her side of the bed, manoeuvring the covers out from under her to cover her with them before grabbing a left over pillow and positioning it under her right foot, propping it up before covering her with the comforter again.

After turning off the light on the nightstand he laid down besides her, enveloping her in his arms and placing a soft kiss on top of her head. "Night baby girl. Love you." He whispered into her ear before closing his eyes as well.
