Hello Readers 🦋🦋

Avery here! I'm over the moon to announce that SubRosa Ties is on the verge of hitting a million reads on Wattpad.

Your unwavering support, love, votes, and honest feedback have been amazing, and I can't thank you enough. It truly means everything to me, and I'm excited to continue this journey with you.

I'm also thrilled to share a new story I've been passionately working on-Spiral Knot. It's an office dark romance that I've been refining, and I'm eager for you to dive into it.

Below is a sneak peek of a scene from the story.

I stepped forward, my heels clicking softly against the floor, when the sound of a low voice caught my attention from the far corner. My eyes snapped in that direction, and there he was. Black shimmering hair, longer than before.

White shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his forearms, revealing the strong lines of his muscles. Black suit pants that hung just right. His back was broad-far broader than I remembered.

And was he taller? Gabriel had been about 6'1" three years ago, but the man standing there, with his back turned to me, looked closer to 6'3".

He was on a call, his face hidden from view, staring out at the breathtaking skyline of Metrovale through the floor-to-ceiling glass window. His right hand held the phone casually to his ear, while his left hand was buried in his pocket, exuding that familiar calm confidence.

My gaze betrayed me, trailing down to the veins subtly popping along his forearm, the strength in them undeniable.

What the hell, Daphne? Why are you staring at that?

I blinked rapidly, shaking my head, trying to refocus. His deep voice continued to murmur slowly, the words rolling off his tongue in Spanish.

Of course. He had always being fluent in his father's language. Typical Gabriel-still the same arrogant bastard, fluent in languages but lacking in empathy.

I decided to wait, silently hoping he'd finish his call soon. But the minutes ticked by, and his deep voice continued to fill the room.

Wasn't three hours of waiting enough? Does he expect me to stand here forever? It felt like an eternity as I shifted on my feet, my legs starting to ache. His call dragged on for 20 minutes now, and my Celestine heels-no matter how gorgeous-were making their presence painfully known.

Wearing them around Metrovale was a statement, but right now, they were nothing short of a nightmare.
I let out a quiet sigh, tempted to slip them off for a moment's relief.

Sure, I could have perched on the leather couch that looked so inviting in the corner, but he hadn't given me permission to sit. And I wasn't about to grant myself that luxury in his presence. Not yet.

Just as I was on the verge of giving in to the throbbing in my feet, he turned abruptly. I froze on the spot, my breath catching. His eyes were locked on my face, unwavering.

He still looked like the same gorgeous man I had fallen for, but there was a shift-something almost unreal about him now. The way he stood, the broadness of his shoulders, the calm in his movements-it was like he had been sculpted by something divine. His sharp jawline, the smoothness of his skin-it all screamed of a man who had only gotten better with time. But it was his eyes that threw me off.

They weren't like I remembered.

One of them glinted unnaturally, like a piece of glass catching the light.
