Ren was our very good friend and a brother to us. The second man said..

Their voices were low and hushed, but Ana could sense a hint of tension beneath their calm tone. One of them spoke in a slightly gravelly pitch, while the other had a smoother, more measured sound. Their words were indistinguishable, but the sound of their voices sent a shiver down Ana's spine.

Ana's pov:

"Sorry for your loss, Ana," one of the men said, his voice low and gravelly.

Ren was our very good friend and a brother to us," the other man added, his tone smoother.

Their words sent a shiver down my spine. I couldn't help but notice the tension beneath their calm demeanor. They wore identical black suits, and one of them had a tattoo on the left side of his neck. Their appearance gave me chills.

How did they know me? How could they be Ray's friends?

I quickly turned to Ben, seeking refuge. "Oh, Ben, you're here!" I exclaimed, relief washing over me.

"Mam, are you okay? You look pale," Ben asked, concern etched on his face.

"Ben, there are two men here...they look extremely dangerous," I whispered urgently. "They claim to be Ray's friends, but I don't believe them."

Ben's expression changed, and for a moment, he seemed to know something. "Mam, please come with me," he said, taking my hand.

As we approached the men, I avoided eye contact, fearing their intense gazes.

"Mam, you were asking me about my boss," Ben began. "These men are my boss and your brother's best friends."

The words stunned me. "My brother's best friends...and your boss?" I repeated, struggling to comprehend.

One of the men spoke up, "Ray mentioned us to you, Ana. He didn't introduce us, but you're aware of us."

I shook my head. "Ray never mentioned you. I don't think you're telling the truth."

Ben's words still lingered in my mind. I decided to leave, sensing danger emanating from these men.

Just as I turned to go, one of them spoke, "Ana, remember the day Ray told you about his mission? He said if anything happened to him, his friends would take care of you."

Ray's words echoed in my mind: "...Don't worry, Ana, if something happens to me, my friends will take care of you...trust me, Ana, I won't let you live a bad life even if I'm not there for you...I love you, baby sis."

Tears pricked at my eyes as memories flooded back.

"You're...you're the friends Ray talked about," I muttered.

Max, the man with the tattoo, nodded. "Yes, Ana. We're those friends. And now, you're our responsibility."

I felt a surge of defiance. "What are your names?"

"I'm Max, and this is my younger brother Leo," the tattooed man replied.

"I'm sorry, but I have to go," I said hastily.

Max's voice stopped me. "Ana, Ray gave us your responsibility. You're coming with us."

I stood firm. "I'm not anyone's responsibility. I won't go with you."

As I turned to leave, Max called out, "Ana, listen-"

But I was already gone, tears streaming down my face.

Back at my house, I collapsed into tears, mourning Ray's loss.

A knock on the door broke the silence.

I opened it to find Max and Leo standing there.

"I told you I'm not coming with you," I said firmly, tears still flowing.

Max's expression softened. "Ana, you're not even an adult. You can't live alone."

"I can, and I will," I shot back.

As I closed the door, Max spoke up, "Ana, stop. We have something from Ray. He asked us to give it to you."

My hand hesitated on the door handle. What could Ray have left for me?

So guyss what does Max and leo have that stopped Ana from closing the door...🤔
