"It was fun," I spoke while strolling in the lobby with enthusiasm. "We did almost five rounds, and every time I won against him," I said with a smile on my face.

Albert made a call when Jeremy dropped me at my place. I was telling Albert everything that had happened today at Everett's private estate. About the riding and all the stuff.

"That's nice," he said from the other side.

"Yeah, and we did barbecue after that, and there's a big garden in front of their house where their mother grows different kinds of carnations. They were so beautiful-I enjoyed so much there."

"It means you're doing well there without me, huh?" he teased, and I let out a chuckle. I started climbing the stairs while chatting with him about my day; he was listening to me with full attention.

I told him that Jeremy had confessed his feelings to me, and Albert acted surprised after hearing it. "Did he?"

"Yes, he did." And suddenly, the incident that happened this evening between us replayed in my head.

Don't let these words come out of your mouth, not even as a joke.

I can't erase the memory of his reaction. The fire in his eyes was undeniable, burning with an intensity I never expected. Something so small, so seemingly insignificant, had ignited a fury within him that was both terrifying and mesmerizing.

The way his eyes darkened with rage sent a chill through me, but it was the way he kissed me that truly stole my breath.

He kissed me aggressively. passionately.

His lips crashed against mine with a force that left me stunned, the raw passion of it overwhelming my senses. The world around me blurred, and my mind was lost in the heat of the moment, consumed by something I had never felt before.

Even now, just the thought of it sends shivers racing down my spine-a mixture of fear and longing that shakes my entire body.

When I hit the last step, my name reverberated in my ear, "Ava?" I looked at the phone and realized that I was still on the call. I had gotten so lost in my thoughts that I almost forgot I was talking to my brother.

"Yeah?"

My heart skipped a beat, goosebumps appeared on my skin when I got to my house and found the door unlocked, which made me wonder if I had forgotten to lock it.

"I'll talk to you later," I whispered and quickly creaked the door open with trembling hands. My heart thumped loudly as I walked inside.

I found my mother sitting on the couch, sipping liquor.

I let out a sigh of relief.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, a bit too loudly, and sat at a good distance from her.
