"Ava"

When the door swung open my eye dilated and her name came out of my mouth with concern.

She was standing in front of me with blood dripping from her fingers and there were a few red blotches I saw on my shirt which she was still wearing.

I quickly grabbed her by the wrist and took her inside, I saw glass scattered on the kitchen floor, she probably cut her hand there, I thought.

I applied ointment to her wound and put a bandage on her fingers while she did not say a single word. She was silent as she had nothing to say.

Her body still trembling. "Ava look...I put a bandage on your finger there's no blood now okay" I tried to mollify her but she was still quiet and continued nibbling on her bottom lip.

"Did something happen here? Why did you call me all of a sudden?" I asked when she didn't reply to my previous question.

I got worried when she called me and then suddenly the call got disconnected. I tried to call her but her phone kept saying switched off so I decided to come over here. I got in my car and drove there directly. I didn't know what was happening neither I know right now what had happened.

She was quiet which made my heart uneasy.

"Say something." I plead and put my fingers and thumb to lift her chin.

She didn't bother to look into my eyes so I leaned closer to ask her again, my heart clenched when her eyes started streaking with tears.

She threw herself in my arms and burst into crying.

"Av-" I hesitated before slowly wrapping my arms around her waist. She tightened her grip on me and kept herself indulging in weeping.

I let her like this for longer than needed, I could always offer her a shoulder, it felt good to cry out your problems sometimes but looking at her crying like this made me anxious.

I didn't want her to cry.

"calm down Ava," I said, drawing circles on her back to soothe her down.

Her breath hitching in between crying she had difficulty in breathing. I detached myself from her and told her to breathe.

She listened to me and did as I said. "Breath Ava" I dictated and soon her breath normalized.

I wiped her tears with the pad of my thumb and lifted her head to make her look at me again. "Now tell me what happened if you feel okay"

"He's-" she began but again ended up crying. Tears kept rolling down her cheeks.

"Don't. don't Ava. Don't cry. try to speak okay or else we can't figure things out. right,"
