Since the moment she hopped inside my car, she was sleeping. She was in the passenger seat, hugging her knees, and her head rested on the window.
When I asked her yesterday all of a sudden to get ready on Sunday morning, she gave me a perplexed look, but to my surprise, she, without asking anything, said yes to me.
Her mood was off for two days since her friend got banished from school. Two things happened to her this week which made her sad. first, she was upset about his brother's abroad plan and then this incident bombarded her.
I couldn't see her sad anymore; I wanted the smile back on her face; I wanted to see her cheerful face when it lit up even after answering or solving a simple equation. I wanted to see her smiling again like she always did so I asked her out yesterday but didn't tell her where I was taking her.
It was a surprise, and I was sure it'd make her super happy when she reached there.
She brought my shirt along with her which I laid her last week, She said she tried to wash my shirt, but the stain was never going. She tried her best, but nothing happened. She apologized to me for making my shirt dirty, but I let it go easily. The shirt was nothing big to care about right now.
The weather was cozy and warm today, perfect for spending your day out under the brilliant sky.
The sun played hide and seek behind the cirrostratus clouds, and birds left their nests, chirping on their way to find food. The chilly wind shackling the tall trees on either side of the roadway was enough to explicate that November was not so far to visit.
After around twenty-five minutes we reached our destination. She was unaware of it as she was still lost in her slumber.
I decided not to wake her up, she was deep in sleep. The heater system was turned on to create warmness but I didn't think it was a must here as she was with me to provide warmth to the core of my heart.
It felt good when she was around.
She woke up groaning and stretching her arms and paused when her eyes fell on me.
She straightened herself, running a hand over her messy hair she looked straight out of the windshield.
"We reached?" She asked.
"Mhm"
"How long have I been sleeping?" She asked trying to regain herself.
I looked at my wristwatch and said, "Around two hours."
She faked a cough, swirled towards me, and gave me a look as if I told her to sleep for that long.
I suppressed a smile.
"Why didn't you wake me up? You should wake me up." She again looked out of the windshield with wide eyes to ratify, she put her spectacle on it's place. "Where are we?" Her words faltered as she brought herself out of the car.
