The deafening sound of the bar at the hotel was especially annoying today. And although Dahlia kept hearing her familiar saying she should just go back to the room and try to get some sleep, she was too restless to do that.

Another murder had happened the previous night. Her purple eyes were scanning the newspaper and looking at the face of the deceased young man who had been found dead at the back of an alley, near a club. Much like the other bodies that had been found the past few days, he was full of claw marks, as if an animal had made them. The text even described the murder as something inhumane, seeing as the man had his chest basically cut open, bite marks all over him and pieces of the flesh missing.

Of course, the police weren't doing a really good job in finding the culprit. It wasn't their fault, though. The culprits would be hard to find. At least the streets were now heavily patrolled.

She was so focused on the newspaper that Dahlia failed to notice the sounds of footsteps approaching her side. She barely even processed the sweet scent of musk and bourbon before a cup of fresh coffee was placed in front of her on the table, a graceful and elegant hand poising it there.

Her eyes lifted up to see Hoseok, his brown hair messy and a little damp from showering, his cologne a little bit fresher. He was smiling down at her.

"You think bribing you with more coffee will earn me a seat next to you?" He asked, raising a brow, hopeful.

Dahlia smiled, amused, before nodding slowly.

"Well, it sure earns you some points, that's for sure." She mumbled, peeking at his hand on the cup a little too hungrily.

"Ah, but not a seat? That's too bad... Maybe I should've brought cake, as well."

She giggled.

Giggled? When had been the last time she had done that? Her chest was filled with that soft warmth again, the one she had gotten back when Dahlia first talked to Hoseok. It was welcoming, different from anything else and it didn't frighten her. It was actually endearing.

"I can allow a seat. But now you know coffee is not enough offerings." Dahlia said, smiling wider when he seemed genuinely happy for being able to sit down next to her.

In the couple of weeks she had been in town, Dahlia had only seen Hoseok a couple of times when he was about to start his classes. She had always been too exhausted to go and engage in some sort of conversation or to go watch him dance.

As soon as he was settled in the chair next to her, Hoseok took a sip of his own coffee while eyeing her as she grabbed the coffee he brought her and took a sip.

"How did you know what to get me?" She asked, savoring the refreshing cold brew.

"I asked the waiter what you got first. He gave me the side eye, I think he took me for a stalker." Hoseok replied, smiling a little as if amused the waiter had thought such a thing.
