Namjoon felt a small sting in the back of his head, the tiny rays of light piercing through the white curtains and kicking him in the eyes.

He was vaguely aware of his dry throat and how the smell of alcohol still lingered in his clothes. Becoming a bit more aware, he felt the sweet scent of apples around him, the soft sheets and mattress under him feeling like a little bit of heaven. He was awakened by a different sound, however.

He knew exactly where he was, why he was here and all that had happened last night. The words he told Ellie should be mortifying him, in that moment, but it only made him want to break into a smile.

He really did love her... it wasn't the best to just blurt it out in front of her while drunk, bleeding on her carpet and in tears, but hey! At least it was something.

He also knew that Ellie most likely didn't believe a word he said because, well... he had been piss drunk last night.

The sound that had awakened him came back. It sounded like a cough, the type that had you agonizing, and it was coming from the bathroom. It was at that point he realized Ellie's small body wasn't beside him in bed. The disappointment was put aside the moment he understood the sound was repeating and being followed by the sickening sound of throwing up.

Namjoon was up in a flash.

He promptly ignored the headache that tried to form in his head and straight up beelined towards the bathroom and opened the door.

Ellie was on her knees, in front of the toilet, retching viciously into it. Her hands, one grabbing her hair back and the other supported on the seat of the toilet, were trembling and she looked pale and sick.

Walking towards her, Namjoon grabbed a clean washcloth to wet it and then went to place himself behind the small woman. Now that he was paying attention, Ellie had lost weight and was looking fairly weak. She hadn't looked like this a few days ago when he had been here. Namjoon brushed her hair back and felt her flinch, instantly starting to whimper a complaint and using her free hand to try to put distance between them.

"Stay still, kitten, it's okay." He mumbled by her ear, trying to offer some sort of comfort.

Using the washcloth to clean the sweat off her forehead, Namjoon flushed the toilet when she was done and helped her up. Ellie seemed mildly relieved, now that she'd emptied her stomach, and was able to wash her face and brush her teeth.

"Are you done? We can stay here if you still feel sick." He asked, brushing her wavy hair out of her face to look at her properly.

Ellie dried her mouth and unconsciously leaned into him, her body deflating slightly and gravitating towards him.

"I feel better now. I have one of Luna's tea blends in the kitchen, it should help." She mumbled, closing her eyes and sighing.

To say he felt bad was an understatement. He didn't remember seeing Ellie like this, ever! And he had been here ever since she was in high school. The woman was as healthy as a horse, never sick and always nagging her uncle for how much he smoked. This was literally the first time he was seeing her so weak.
