A few months ago, I was on YouTube, you know, just watching memes and YouTubers getting jump scared at horror games for fun. I would also watch The Owl House out of context and memes just for fun until I stumped upon a video called "Pilot." A pilot of a pre-Owl House stories? That's surprising! My goodness what a reveal. Anyways, back to the topic.
According to creator Dana Terrace, she has stated that the pilot "was in many ways very similar to the first episode, but there were a couple of major differences". Various elements of the plot have been revealed over time, however must of the scenes would either removed or rewrite for Episode 1:
The opening of the pilot involves Luz being harassed by a group of school bullies. Amity (the human version) then unwittingly stands up for Luz against the bullies, leading Luz to try befriending her. After class, Luz offers Amity a drawing she made of her, commenting that she got a papercut while making the drawing, but worked the blood into the picture as blush on Amity's face.
The first meeting between Luz and Eda in the pilot plays out similarly to how it does in the finished series, with an seeming exception that, rather than initially running off, Luz is instead held in place by Eda.
The first meeting between Luz and King in the pilot plays out similarly to how it does in the finished series.
Lilith is featured in the pilot as the principal of Hexside, and at some point transforms into a bat-creature.
By the end of the episode, Luz becomes trapped within the Demon Realm, and must set out to find a way home.
The same cast would later appeared in the series debut in 2020 (quarantine year), but some of them have demo voice overs and I'll add David Algernon in the pilot because in my story, both him and Luz met each other when they were kids and I wanted to add it to the pilot. Now, unto the story, or which I would called it, the demo episode. I''l be adding additional scenes for David as well, even though he was still the same in the actually story. This pilot is a non-canon. In this pilot, both David and Luz are in different classes while in the actually story, they went to the same class together.
Warning: Since this pilot is different than the first episode, I'm going to add an additional scene where David is sent to a principal's office for well, you'll find out. Most of the concept are from my ideas back in 2021.
"Pilot"
Luz Noceda and David Algernon are two social outcasts at their school. When a popular exchange student, Amity, unintentionally stands up for Luz, Luz befriends her. David meanwhile is being talked out by the principal for his recent violent and aggressive behaviors towards other students and planned on sending him to see an anger management therapist. Noticing that Amity has dropped her passport, Luz and David attempts to return it, causing the two to follow Amity through a portal to the Boiling Isles, a magical realm in another dimension. The two meet Eda, a fugitive witch, who takes them to her home, the Owl House, and introduces them to King, the self-proclaimed king of demons. Eda promises to help Luz and David find Amity if she helps to get King's crown back from Lilith, Eda's sister and headmistress of the local high school. David learns that he is actually a werewolf that he is not aware of. Infiltrating the school under different names, Luz and David learns that Amity is a witch and a student there. The two attempts to return the passport, but finds Amity ridiculing them behind her back. The two help Eda and King reclaim the "crown", discovering it to be a toy crown. A chase ensues between the three and Lilith, ending with David and Luz trapping Lilith through a portal. David and Luz, with no immediate way home and heartwarmed by Eda's honest praise, stays with her and King. Secretly, Eda is threateningly ordered to bring the two to the emperor of the Isles. David also need to figuring out why his father never mentioned him about being a werewolf and figuring out what happened to his mother before he was born.
"Next Time On"
A short selection of scenes narrated by Luz, involving her desire to become a witch and how she plans to fulfill it. David will also do some narration through montages and his plan on exploring more adventures in the future in solving mysteries and encountering dangerous foes.
I need some help with writing the script for this pilot since it was released to the media back in April 2024. I'll credited those who helped me with the writing. Thank you and good day or goodnight.
