Azula walked to Capitano's house and knocked on the door. It was fairly early in the morning so she didn't expect him to answer. She waited a moment before raising her hand to knock again as the door opened.
He had nothing but a towel around his waist and his mask on. She knew that he would of course wear it to open the door as it could be anyone on the other side.
"Crystalfly?" He held the door open.
"Yes." She nodded. There was a prolonged silence. "I'd love to move in with you." She elaborated. "Sorry I freaked out earlier."
"It's ok." Although she couldn't see it, she could tell he was smiling. He pulled her into his house and closed the door. "You look tired." He took his mask off and lifted her chin with his index and middle finger. "Did you sleep at all?" She shook her head as her exhaustion finally hit. "Keep falling into my arms and you'll make it your permanent place." He picked her up and took her to his bedroom.
She nuzzled into his chest and let slumber consume her. She had never felt more safe than she had with him. Never. Not when she still had all of her power. Not with her ex husband. Not with her sister or the rest of her found family. He was her safe space that she never wanted to lose.
He set her down carefully in his bed before kneeling down to place a general kiss on her forehead and getting into bed with her. He looked down at her sleeping form and couldn't recall a time his mind was quiet or even at ease. It was then that he realized how he felt about the sovereign.
For the first time in nearly a decade, he was terrified. The feelings were further evolved then he could comprehend. It had only been a month since they got together and he never expected it to evolve like this.
He grabbed the letter on the nightstand and read it over. Maybe a few days away from her would help him understand. He could stop by and visit Barbra on the way back.
He scribbled down a quick note and dashed out the door to complete his mission.
When Azula woke up later in the day she turned over expecting her boyfriend to be there. She panicked when he wasn't and searched the entire house. She looked everywhere but the nightstand. She walked into Columbia's and asked if she knew where Capitano was.
"He was sent on a mission, should be back in three days or so." Columbia told her. "He said he left a note on the night stand."
"He probably did." Azula let out a sigh of relief. "I just panicked when he wasn't there."
"Have you done this before?" Columbia made her a cup of tea.
"No." Azula shook her head. "This time was different. I know one day I will lose him, the down side of being immortal, but I just can't fathom the thought of it being so soon. I don't want to lose him at all."
"Young love." Columbia smiled.
"What?" Azula looked at her.
"Tell me about your boyfriend, like I don't know who he is." Columbia spoke. "Trust me." Columbia responded after Azula gave her a confused look.
"I don't know where to start." Azula said. "I'm he's good to me, makes me feel safe like I never have before, even with my ex husband. I feel as if I can be my true self with him. He's not attracted to my power, or my appearance, he likes me for who I am. I was attracted to him long before I even saw his face. He's giving me firsts I never thought I would have. I don't know what I'd be or do without him now that he's in my life."
"Do ya heard it?" Columbia asked.
"Hear what?" Azula was still left confused. "I'm confused."
"What would happen if one day he doesn't walk through that door." Columbia added.
"I don't know. I don't think I'd recover." Azula looked into her tea.
"Darling, you're in love with him." Columbia said.
"What no." Azula shook her head. "That's not love, love is everlasting attraction to one another. Love is the deep feeling of affection." Azula took notice as she spoke. "I hear it now."
"About time. You need to tell him." Columbia took a sip of her tea. "Well you have to wait three days but still."
"It's only been a month. I'm sure he doesn't feel the same." Azula shook her head.
"Can't know if you don't try." Columbia ruffled her hair. "We should start packing your things." She stood up.
"Can we put that off till tomorrow?" Azula grabbed her arm. "Please, I need to process."
"Of course." Columbia nodded and stay back down in her chair.
