Azala stirred and pulled herself closer to the hard wall. Arms snaked further around her waist and she was just about to fall back into slumber when she had the realization.
The smell of a very faint but familiar cologne remained her of exactly where she was. She didn't move as her physical body was frozen. Her and Capitano seemed to get to sleep just fine. At the time they went to sleep, Azula had her back towards him, and he had his hands behind his head. That didn't last long. She took a deep breath and then analyzed the situation.
His arms were securely wrapped around her waist and her right had reached up his back from under his left arm. His nose was in her hair. If she were to move, he would wake up and things would get weird. But staying there wasn't a good idea. Slumper consumed her once again as her eyes began to droop.
When Azula woke up again Capitano was gone. She took a couple of minutes to get out of the bed and dressed. She put her hair up in a ponytail and exited the room.
Pantalone was having tea in the dining room whilst going over some documents. She looked around the small apartment and then poured herself some tea.
"Sovereign." Pantalone didn't look up from the documents.
"Harbinger." She stirred the sugar into her tea. "Where has the captain gone?"
"Claimed he was investigating, knowing him he went back home to mondstadt." He answered. "He actually used to be grand master."
"Really?" She asked.
"Yeah, I bet he's told you the story."
"No, actually. We aren't at the sharing battle stories stage yet."
"Couldn't have guessed that by the way I found you two this morning." He took a sip of his tea.
"That's an evasion of privacy." She crossed her arms.
"You're in my house." He said.
"And yet both of us out rank you." She smirked. Pantalone froze for a moment. "I'm fucking with you, but think about that the next time." She stood up and walked away with her cup of tea.
Azula ventured out to the city and came across Tartaglia.
"What are you doing here?"
"My fiancé lives in liyue." He smiled.
"Your engaged?" She smiled. "Since when?"
"A little over a year. Neither of us are in a rush to get married." He said.
"How nice." She nodded. "Do you know who stole Pantalone's coat?"
"Probably Yelan. Not to be a narc, but they have like a rivalry. It's probably long gone." He shrugged. "Old mora bags tells me you and the cap are together."
"Rumors spread like Wildfire I see." She shook her head. "We are not together."
"Don't get so defensive gee." He put his hands up in surrender.
"He's a good guy and I'd be privileged too I just don't think it flys that way. Especially because he's my trainer, we work together, and apparently he's like not into relationships."
"I used to work with my fiancé, him training you is just so you remain strong, not like anyone doubts your power it's just been awhile. And he's into you very much just doesn't want to show it since he was taught that relationships and love make you weak." Chile laughed.
"Who is your fiancé?"
"I scored me an archon." Childe motioned for her to follow him. They walked into Childe's house and to the kitchen.
"Morax?" Azula looked at Zhongli in front of her.
"Azala, you're alive." Zhongli looked at his fiancé.
"Seems you two already know each other." Childe sat down next to Zhongli. They sat and talked for hours before Capitano walked in. "Captain, we weren't expecting you."
"I was told this is where my partner was." Capitano looked at Azula.
"I was just catching up with an old friend." Azula smiled at Capitano.
"Don't let my appearance stop that." The captain sat next to Azala.
"So who proposed?" Azula asked.
"Both actually same time." Childe laughed. "He made a ring, I bought one that reminded me of him."
"Childe initially got down first but then I showed him I had a ring too." Zhongli smiled. "I should probably get started on dinner."
"Will you two be staying?" Childe looked at his colleagues. Azula looked at Capitano.
"We should wrap up our investigation." Azula stood up. "But I will make sure to visit sometime in the future. If not then at your wedding if I'm invited."
"Of course you will be. You've always been polite to me even though you out rank me, and seeing him that happy is a gift." Childe smiled.
"I'll see you both around." Azure returned the smile and left with Capitano. "Where did you go?"
"Went to visit family." He told her.
"I wasn't aware you had any, I guess you learn something new everyday." Azula skipped along like a ray of sunshine.
"Not living anyway." He added.
"I'm guessing parents?" Her previous light had dimmed. Capitano nodded. "Both a pro and con of being mortal."
"What do you mean?" Capitano asked.
"You have to watch the ones you love die but eventually you get to join them in the afterlife." She spoke. "Immortals such as myself don't get that. I'm going to have to watch the world around me die. Friends, loved ones, you get to see your loved ones again."
"That's depressing." Pantalone came up behind them. "Find my coat yet? Mr. Detective."
"Entitled prick." Capitano remarked.
"That reminds me, I have something to do."Azula remembered Childe talking. To her earlier and went up a set of stairs before knocking on the door.
"Can I help you?" A woman with a black and blue bod answered the door.
"Yalan?" Azula asked and the woman nodded. "I'm going to need you to leave Pantalone well alone."
"And you are?" The woman smirked.
"Well, the pyro dragon sovereign, and a future director of the fatui. Leave him alone because to be honest he's terrified of you so." Azula smiled.
"Whatever." Yelan retreated back into the house. Azula walked all the way back to the bank and to pantalones little apartment.
