Okay, maybe I went a little too hard on the "I'm fine" thing, but seriously, how bad can a check-up be?

Apparently, very bad, if Bakugo has anything to say about it.

"You're not leaving this room until you get checked, Deku," Bakugo growled, pointing a finger toward the infirmary bed. His ears were flattened against his head, and his tail was flicking like he was about to explode.

I crossed my arms, standing my ground. "I already told you, Bakugo. I don't need a check-up. I'm fine. I just need new clothes and a bath. I can take care of myself."

Bakugo's eyes narrowed dangerously. "You're not fine. You're a quirkless human in a world where you're at the bottom of the food chain even worse than your old one. I'm not letting you run around half-dead, covered in blood, looking like you crawled out of a dumpster. Now, get on the damn bed!"

I let out a frustrated sigh, rubbing the back of my neck. "I'm not getting on the bed. You're not my boss, Bakugo."

Bakugo's tail lashed behind him, and I could see the frustration boiling over. "You're in my world now, and I'm the one in charge here. So yeah, I am your boss."

Oh, here we go.

I shook my head. "Nope. Not happening. You can boss your mafia buddies around all you want, but I'm not one of them. I'm a hero-in-training. I've been through worse than this."

Bakugo's eyes flared with anger, and before I knew it, he was lunging at me. "You little—!"

Oh crap.

I barely had time to react before Bakugo's fist came flying at my face. Instinct kicked in, and I ducked just in time, narrowly avoiding the punch. His knuckles grazed the air above my head as I sidestepped to the left.

"Come on, Kacchan, seriously?" I said, raising an eyebrow. "You're really going to punch me because I don't want a check-up?"

Bakugo didn't respond—he was too busy winding up for another swing. This time, I was ready. I dodged to the right, blocking his punch with my forearm, and used the momentum to twist out of his reach.

Bakugo's eyes widened in surprise. "What the—"

Before he could finish, I ducked under another punch and swept my leg under his, tripping him. Bakugo stumbled, but quickly regained his footing, looking more pissed than ever.

"You're asking for it, Deku!" he snarled, launching at me again.

I dodged easily, sidestepping his wild punch and throwing my arms up in defense. "I'm not trying to fight you, Kacchan!"

Bakugo didn't care. He swung again, this time with more force. But I blocked it, pivoted, and used his momentum to flip him off balance again. He hit the ground with a loud thud, his tail twitching furiously as he scrambled back to his feet.

"What the hell, Deku?!" Bakugo shouted, his eyes wide with disbelief. "How the hell are you doing this?"

I shrugged, keeping my guard up as he circled me. "Hero training. You're not the only one who's been working hard, Kacchan."

Bakugo glared at me, his breathing heavy. "There's no way you should be this fast. You're a human—a quirkless human!"

I dodged another punch, rolling out of the way and landing in a crouch. "Life's tough in the human world too, you know. Especially for a quirkless kid like me. I had to get strong. I had to train harder than everyone else just to survive."

Bakugo gritted his teeth, clearly not satisfied with that answer. "You shouldn't be able to block me like this! You're supposed to be slower, weaker—how the hell are you keeping up with me?"

Because I'm not the same Deku you used to push around and know....

I smiled slightly, dodging yet another punch. "I told you, Kacchan. I trained. I worked harder than anyone else to get into UA. I don't need quirks to fight back."

Bakugo's frustration was palpable as he swung at me again, but I ducked and dodged effortlessly. He was fast, but I was faster. Every time he tried to land a punch, I was already one step ahead, blocking, dodging, or tripping him up.

Finally, Bakugo threw one last desperate punch, but I blocked it, twisting his arm and flipping him onto his back. He hit the floor hard, and I quickly backed away, breathing heavily but still on my feet.

Bakugo lay there for a moment, staring up at the ceiling in disbelief. "How... the hell... are you doing this?" he muttered, more to himself than to me.

I crossed my arms, still catching my breath. "Like I said, hero training. Just because I'm quirkless doesn't mean I'm helpless."

Bakugo sat up slowly, his face a mix of frustration and grudging respect. He wiped a bit of blood from the corner of his mouth, glaring at me. "You shouldn't be able to move like that. Not here. Not without a quirk."

I shrugged again, trying to play it off. "I don't need a quirk. I've trained my whole life for this. Being quirkless just means I had to work twice as hard."

Bakugo slowly got to his feet, still glaring at me but clearly impressed. "You've gotten faster."

I smirked. "And stronger."

Bakugo grumbled something under his breath, still clearly annoyed. "Fine. You win. No check-up."

Wait, did I just win?

"Wait, seriously?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

Bakugo crossed his arms, still glaring at me but finally backing down. "Yeah. You're clearly not gonna drop dead anytime soon, so whatever. Do what you want."

I blinked, surprised. "Just like that?"

Bakugo scowled. "Don't push your luck, Deku."

Okay, I'm pushing my luck.

"Does this mean I'm not a pet either?" I asked, grinning.

Bakugo's eyes narrowed. "Don't test me."

I threw my hands up in mock surrender, still smiling. "Alright, alright. No more testing. But seriously, Bakugo, I'm fine. I don't need a check-up."

Bakugo glared at me one last time before turning away, muttering under his breath. "Quirkless human... shouldn't be that fast... this is insane..."

I couldn't help but laugh a little. Sure, I might be in some strange cat world where I was technically a pet, but at least I had one thing going for me—I could still outmaneuver Bakugo.

Hero training really does pay off.
