MY FATE WAS LONG WRITTEN BEFORE I WAS BORN- it wasn't a surprise to me if I was being honest. It was the life of a demigod, because no matter how hard you try to avoid it, it always ends up the same, rarely do we get our happy ending.
My body shook with rage at the sight of the Roman Emperor, and what he had done. Behind me, the daughter of Aphrodite howled and I could hear the footsteps of my brother stepping in front of her in order to shield her.
I made eye-contact with the Roman Emperor, and from above us, the sky darkened. I couldn't let him get to the others, and I knew what I had to do. I had to give them more time to escape. Surely, I would be greeted in Elysium, for sacrificing myself for the other heroes, for the greater good.
Lightning crackled as I outstretched my hand, gathering it all in one hand. My anger grew even further at the sight of the Roman Emperor plucking the spear from the dead body. I shot my hand out in his direction when he drove the spear back down onto the body. From the corner of my eye, I could see the Pandai drawing their bows and taking aim in my direction.
I could feel the air crackle once more, but this time it was due to the arrival of the Storm Spirit. He was carrying out his rider's last orders, going to me first but I willed all my energy to guide him to get to the son of Zeus and the daughter of Aphrodite.
I stumbled slightly when an arrow landed on my right thigh. Another arrow took me in the upper arm. I released a scream of agony as more arrows continued to pierce my body and I slowly crumbled to the floor on my knees. I panted heavily and raised my head to look at the Roman Emperor, who started to laugh at the sight of the two fallen children of the King of the Gods.
I raised Astrapē up in the air, watching as a faint golden light encased the celestial bronze as it started to being surrounded with lighting. I watched as Astrapē glowed even brighter before gathering my energy to stand up. The Roman Emperor moved forward, plucking his spear from the body before making his way to me and I met him halfway.
I slashed him multiple times with Astrapē, trying to leave him with multiple wounds. I knew I couldn't kill him, but I could weaken him for the next person. I raised my left hand, mastering my strength to move him move backwards as we continued to fight before I struck Atrapē onto his ribcage, watching as his body was littered with lightning.
He growled at the contact before pulling out the kindjal, throwing it away as if it were trash and maybe to him, it was. Apparently he had enough of fighting me because the next thing I knew, he drove his bloody spear onto my upper chest before pulling it out. I stiffened, my body crumbling onto the floor, as I gasped in agony but I wouldn't go down easy.
I laid on my back, and clenched my fists, thunder rolling in once more. Just like he had done to my brother before me, the Roman Emperor, he went to drive the spear onto my body once more. I shrieked at the pain blossoming, and it unleashed the pain of the arrows, my whole body was feeling fried and burnt.
I clutched the spear, not letting go of and allowed all my energy to flow into it. As my eyes slowly closed, I watched as the spear lit up with lighting before it exploded.
Remember brother, remember what its like to be human
