I opened my eyes, adjusting to the light, and heard the noise of machines. I looked around and tried to get up, but the pain was overwhelming. A yelp of pain escaped my mouth, my whole body ached, and he was by my side the moment my voice reached out. I saw him coming toward me.

"Tigress, baby, are you okay?" he asked, checking me, while my heart felt relieved yet still feared—feared losing him. But Kia, what's the use when he doesn't want you?

"Y-Yes, I'm fine," I said, and he helped me sit up a little straighter, then sat on the stool next to my bed.

"Are you feeling better? Does it hurt anywhere? Should I call the doctor?" he asked, panicking with worry. But why is he worried? Didn't he tell me that marrying me was his biggest mistake?

"Thank you, I'm feeling better now. You can leave," I said, and his eyes snapped toward me as I averted my gaze.

"Tigress, baby, please don't push me away. I know I've sinned, but please don't leave me. I won't be able to live without you," he said. I looked at him, tears brimming at the corners of my eyes, but I blinked them away, refusing to let them fall.

"If you want me on my knees, begging for your forgiveness, I will do it gladly. Tigress, I've committed many sins, and losing you would be the most brutal punishment of all. Letting you go would mean letting go of my heart, my breath, because without you, I'm just a body, a living  lifeless body. I used to live like one, but after you came into my life, you changed everything. You changed me, changed the way I see the world. To me, the world was just a colorless picture where I didn't fit, but after meeting you, after marrying you, it felt like the world could be beautiful—could be full of color," he said earnestly. Tears finally spilled from my eyes, and a sob escaped my lips. I looked at him, seeing him on his knees.

"But you... you said marrying me was your biggest mistake," I said, biting my lower lip to stop it from trembling, yet my words came out with sobs. Every sob and every tear was proof of my broken heart.

"I said it in anger, baby. I never meant it. Even saying those words was the biggest mistake of my life. I messed up badly. I was never a good man, and you know that. I've made mistakes, and in the future, I'll probably make more, but any mistake that brings tears to your eyes again— you can kill me at that very moment," he said. I wanted to hold him close. I knew his bitter words were spoken out of anger and that he didn't truly mean them. I understood why he said what he did. My relationship with my parents was never good, but his parents loved him—they showed him their good side. As a child, anyone would feel hurt if someone said something against their parents. It wasn't his fault that he lived in their deception.

"Come here," I managed to say. He looked at me with bloodshot eyes, got up from his knees, and came closer. I immediately pulled him into my arms.

"I'm sorry for everything—for every pain I caused you. I'm so sorry, my tigress," he said, clutching me like a child, careful not to touch my bandages and bruises.
