Well, this wasn't supposed to happen," Adrian said.

"What wasn't supposed to happen?"

"It seems as though you lot are smarter than we initially thought."

"Um thank you, I think," I responded.

"Oh, that was a compliment. I'm sorry I'm not used to being sent on assignments. Normally I just look through a bunch of papers."

"What do you mean, assignments?"

"We'll get to that in a moment. Is there any other information about Project Snowdrop that you know about?"

"I noticed that all the books that seemed to have some information had a key-shaped stamp on the title page of the books. But there were always pages torn out," Zena remembered.

"Oh yeah I noticed that too, and all the books were really old," Fay added.

The others may have been distracted from Adrian's previous comments but I certainly wasn't.

"Wait, go back to the whole assignment thing."

"Um, I'm not sure I can tell you that yet."

"Oh really. You're not sure you can tell me about it yet? Well listen here buster," I start while poking Adrian in the chest. "You're going to tell me about these so-called assignments because right now I am dealing with some dude named Percy who may or may not be my father, a snowdrop necklace that was given to me by my biological father that seems to be freakin' everyone out, whispering teachers, some secretive thing called Project Snowdrop, books with stamps and pages missing, and you, who can apparently vanish whenever you want and seems to enjoy scaring the ever living daylights out of me, so if you don't tell me right now what the hell is going on then I swear buddy I will-'' I tripped over a chair leg and fell into Adrian's arms.

When I got upright again I glanced at Wesley who looked like a ticking time bomb.

"Hey, hey, hey. Calm down. I will tell you whatever you want."

"Ok good," I replied.

"I didn't know you had that much spunk in you."

"Well neither did I but here we are," I said adjusting the sweatshirt I was wearing.

"So about the assignments?"

"I don't know where to start..."Adrian admitted.

"Why don't you start at the beginning," suggested Zena.

"Good idea. Long ago our leaders realized our world was in grave danger. A group of us realized the danger our kind was in so they created a group called Ordre du Trésor Secret or the Order of the Secret Treasure. The Ancients are old Elvin leaders and when our founders brought their concerns up to them they were shut down. I can't remember exactly how old the Order is but I know it's very old. This group's main objective was to figure out what was wrong with the realm and then fix it. They call it Project Snowdrop."

My breath caught.

I spoke before I could catch myself, "My dad used to call me Snowdrop."

I'd forgotten Mom had told me that.

"I'm aware. Your father is quite well known in our world."

"What does that mean?" Wesley asked.

"Was he a bad person or something?" I asked.

"Well, yes and no. He worked with the order and tried to help until one day when he disappeared."

"What do you mean he just disappeared?"
