**Author’s POV**

Family dynamics have a way of complicating things, even when two people are already dealing with their own issues. For Ekansh and Naina, the upcoming dinner meant they would have to confront more than just their unresolved tension. Both families had known each other for years, and despite the fallout between Ekansh and Naina, the families had stayed in touch—perhaps too much for comfort.

When Naina’s mother, Ananya Sharma, had extended the invitation for a small family dinner, Ekansh’s parents had eagerly accepted, as if they were blissfully unaware of the undercurrents that had shifted since their childhood days.

Naina couldn’t believe she was about to sit across from Ekansh at the dinner table. Again.

**Naina’s POV**

I stood in front of the mirror, adjusting my earrings for what felt like the hundredth time. My mom had insisted on this family dinner for weeks, and now that the day had arrived, my stomach was in knots. It wasn’t just a normal family get-together—Ekansh would be there, too. Of course, my mother had left out that tiny detail until it was too late to back out. Typical.

“Naina, are you ready? The Singhanias will be here any minute!” My mom’s voice floated up from downstairs.

Singhania. Ekansh Singhania. How could I forget? It was almost ironic how our families were so intertwined. My mom and Ekansh’s mom, Kavita, had been best friends for as long as I could remember, and our dads—my father, Abhinav Sharma, and his father, Vikram Singhania—shared a long history of business and friendship.

I took a deep breath and straightened my kurta. I could do this. It was just dinner. A few hours. How hard could it be?

Just as I turned to leave my room, I caught a glimpse of my phone lighting up with a message.

**Ekansh**: Nervous?

I rolled my eyes, a small smile tugging at the corners of my lips despite myself.

**Me**: Nope. Just wondering how you’ll manage to embarrass yourself this time.

**Ekansh**: I’m charming, Naina. Your family loves me.
