Just after he finishes thinking about what has happened over the last month both stain and dabi rush into his house startling eri awake.

Breaking news: a peaceful protest for the fair treatment of mutant quirk holders which was set up and run by people without mutant quirk's to show there support has been attacked by what appears to be a villain with a mutant quirk which has baffled everyone he has just been attacking and destroying everything.
Izuku upon seeing this jumps up and rushed towards the apartment building once he gets there he asked toga and mustard to watch eri since they were the first people he sees as he walks in he also noticed that they were also watching the news so he doesn't have to explain why he puts eri on the couch before rushing out of the building while shouting he is going to go help.
Just before he gets to the location the man is going on a rampage.

Protester:who are you and why are you doing this!?!?!!.

As he says that he attempts to stomp on the injured civilians head but is stopped by a light barrier while also getting shot in the shoulder since his sudden movement to crush the civilian's head made it so izuku who was preparing to shoot him was forced to quickly shield the civilian which led to him only getting in one shot instead of his goal of incapacitating him completely.
