From Villain to Hero and back again

[Dabi and Hawks short AU - short explanation, Dabi became a hero after finding out he was on the brink of death because of his flames.]

**Dabi**

I grunted, my back being thrown against the wall. Sliding down I landed on the floor, hunched over as I held my chest.

Dabi: "The f[]ck?!"

Hawks: "Stay quiet villain."

Dabi: "Hawks?"

I raised my head, looking up and saw Hawks standing over me, a feathery sword pointing at my head.

Dabi: "W- what.."

Hawks: "You. You are a betrayer and a roach. You shouldn't have came here, you shouldn't have been able to join."

Dabi: "Is it because I burned your wings? I appologised over and over again for that! I-"

My voice cut off as the blade slid across my cheek. Blood trickle from my healing scars, running down my face and splotching on my clothing.

Hawks: "And yet when you joined I told you to stay as far away from me as possible, yet you waltz in here every night like you own the place."

Dabi: "I.."

Hawks: "Got nothing to say now Dabi?"

He spat out my name like it was dirt, not wanting it to contaminate his mouth.

Dabi: "Is that all you see me for.. a villain? I helped stop Tomura! I helped capture Toga and Spinner! I kept All For One at bay so you could attack him."

Hawks: "Yet you are still the same low-life villain you used to be. Skulking around, spying on people. You think I wouldn't have noticed?"

My heart dropped.

I had been listening in, yes, but that was so I could relay information to myself so I wouldn't slip up.

Dabi: "So you see me like that still."

Hawks: "That is what all villains are like. Thuggish brutes with less sense than hygiene. People who go around and kill for the fun of it."

I looked at him. His bright eyes were stony behind his visor. His hand trembled on the blade.

Dabi: "Wow.. so it is true then."

Hawks: "What is."

Dabi: "That heroes really don't find out what a villains story is before killing them."

Hawks: "Sucks to be them."

Dabi: "Course it f[]cking does."

Hawks lowered his blade slightly. His brow furrowed in confusion and annoyance.

Dabi: "You heroes don't get it do you.

You see differences between us. So do I.

But you see.. I see everything different to you.

You would see me as a b[]stard who kills for the f[]cking hell of it. Yet you see yourself as the hero who saved the day.

Me..

Well I see myself as a person who is trying to make a living for myself without going back to my old life. I see you as people who are scared to drop their reputation and kill to keep their secrets safe.

Now tell me.

Who is right here? Or are we both to blame."
