Maya

Yesterday I fell asleep without even realizing it and I am so grateful that all classes were canceled for the morning because the professors felt bad to make us come to class after such a long trip.

I wish we would have gotten the entire day off though. But something is better than nothing, I guess.

I get up to shower and get rid of whatever laziness is still lingering and get ready. Math is one of the classes that I have today, and I catch myself hoping that I get to see someone in particular.

The trip was really amazing and I feel more connected to Gregory than ever. I can't believe that the holidays are coming up and my favorite time of the year is right around the corner, along with finals, of course.

Finals are really my nightmare, my anxiety is all over the place, and therefore for my emotions as well.

I start walking towards campus and I breathe in and out through my whole walk to make sure I am calm in order to get through the remaining of the day. With my period here, and my anxiety kicking in, I feel like I am a walking - ticking bomb.* Calm down* I tell myself.

As I walk towards McKinley Hall, I look at my shoe laces, which are now untied.

"Great, stupid laces" I sigh.

"Who are you arguing with already?," I hear a very well known voice, ask.

As I look up, Gregory is standing right in front of me, wearing a black hoodie, a white beanie, and white shoes. Towering over me, Gregory raises a cup and helps me up to stand in front of him.

"Chocolate, since it's kind of chilly today," he says and hands me the cup.

"Thanks, you didn't have to," I tell him.

" I know, but I wanted to," he replies.

I take a sip and smile at him, he looks away. Weird.

"I was arguing with my shoe laces," I say to continue the conversation.

"I figured," he says and gives me a smile.

I feel my cheeks burn for a second. *Why am I getting flustered?*

"You are cold already, your cheeks and nose are red already." Gregory examines my face while saying this.

I pull up my scarf and wrap it around my cheeks and nose.

"Geez, you wont be able to breath May May," Gregory teases.

"We should get to class," I say as I start walking faster.

"Wow, there, slow down. Aren't you tired from the trip?" Gregory asks.

"Oh yeah, of course I am," I reply. I look at him and he is looking straight ahead. The wind is blowing and the trees are swaying back and forth with it.

"Man, I love this weather. My favorite time of the year is coming up!" I say excitedly.

"I know right? I love windy days and I guess you're referring to the holidays," Gregory implies.

"Yes! Don't you love Christmas? The time of giving, of joy, I really hope it snows this year. That will make me so happy."

"Yeah I hope so too," he replies.

As we enter Mckinley Hall, Trevor and Edward are sitting on a bench. They simply glance over us and Edward decides to make get up. He walks up to us and starts talking to Gregory. I am distracted by Gregory's dimple and realizing I am staring, I choose to say bye to them  and walk inside the classroom.

I take my seat and some minutes lates Ms.Marion walks in alongside Gregory. He takes his usual seat and passes me a piece of paper:

After reading the note, I look at Ms. Marion's skirt and there is a big sticker attached to it that says 'be free.' I giggle at how stupid the sticker looks and Gregory smiles, and then laughs out loud.

He quickly covers his mouth as Ms. Marion asks him "what is so funny."

"Nothing," Gregory says and bites his lip, compressing his laugh.

I feel bad for the lady and simply get up to tell her she has something in her skirt. I get some bad looks from my other classmates, but I ignore them. If I had something attached to my skirt, I would like for someone to tell me so that I don't make a fool out of myself.

Gregory simply looks at me and gives me a thumbs up. I'm surprised he is not saying I am a party pooper or uptight for letting Ms. Marion know about the sticker.

Ms. Marion thanks me and starts the class.

Gregory and I don't talk for the rest of the class, that is until  class finishes...

Note from author:

Hey guys! I've been falling behind in a lot of things. Don't you hate it when your anxiety and depression make you be glued to your bed and you simply refuse to do anything else? Yup. Some others call it laziness, but I got a new chapter for you all.

Hope you are all doing great and are taking care of yourselves.
