How Jasper would react to you being distant because you don't want him to deal with your emotions 24/7
Jasper is constantly reading your emotions even if you don't want him to. This meant you couldn't hide much from him emotionally/mentally
This frustrated you because there are some days you just want to keep to yourself and some nights you feel slightly guilty for feeling negative emotions around him
You don't want him to feel low and drained because of how you're feeling
That's what started your new, odd behavior. You began to distance yourself to give him a break (not that he needed one)
The few days to yourself went fine but Jasper did feel confused about it - he decided to not say anything, allowing you to speak first once comfortable enough
Slowly, the times you spent time with him in person stopped, only texting or calling him if you absolutely needed to
Again, Jasper felt confused and started to think he did something wrong
He reaches out during school one day but you push him to the side, giving an excuse about running late
Jasper lost his patience and wanted answers even if they weren't what he wanted to hear, he didn't care about his feelings at this point - he's worried about you and what you could possibly be going through
He never wants you to go through the troubles of life alone if not at all
Jasper did the most casual thing to do about this and snuck into your room
(with your permission of course)
He isn't demanding in an aggressive way, Jasper is calm and softly asks you to talk to him about whatever is going on
"Darlin', I'm worried about you."
"I'm fine, Jas."
"..(Y/N)"
After you finally open up and explain why you've been so distant, Jasper is quick to stop you from apologizing or explaining more - He notices how emotional you got by talking about it and gently kissed you
"You're never a burden, Darlin'.. I'd rather feel everything at once from you than nothin' at all."
Jasper will remind you of this frequently after this - he never wants you to feel like you can't go to him or be near him when you're having a bad day
With time you slowly learn to trust his words and stop hiding from him
Jasper will tell you how proud he is whenever you talk to him without the help of his encouraging words
He loves you so damn much. Don't shy away from him, he'd do anything to make you feel better and will always be there by your side even if you don't want him to
How Jasper would react if you asked for more affection/how he'd react to you being clingy
Jasper isn't a huge fan of PDA
That meant less affectionate gestures whenever around other people
For a while you didn't mind and you respected his boundaries
Jasper always showered you with love when alone so it didn't bother you until your anxiety started to make you think more negatively
What if he felt embarrassed? Did he not feel comfortable with the public knowing you're his partner? Was he losing feelings?
Your mind clouded over with these thoughts every day, only adding more horrible assumptions the longer this dragged on for
Jasper couldn't exactly read your mind so you thought you'd be safe from that, you didn't want him to hear all the insecure thoughts you held onto about him and yourself as a couple
However, Edward obviously read your mind and always shook his head with a serious expression, looking right at you
Edward tried telling you (silently) that what you were thinking was nonsense
Jasper caught onto the weird glances you and Edward gave each other so the next time Jasper was alone with you, he brought it up and wanted to figure something out
"Is there something that I should know about?" - Jasper held a serious aura, his brows furrowed and eyes sharp
"No, I'm just.." - You couldn't finish the sentence you rehearsed over and over. His drastic change from sweet and calm to.. this new persona made you anxious
Jasper sensed the anxiety and sighed. He didn't want to come across as angry or dangerous, Jasper truly felt lost and it worries him whenever he doesn't know something important about you
For the first time in a long time, you asked him to use his gift to send you waves of calmness so you could spit out what's been bothering you so bad
Jasper hesitantly did as you asked, his eyes never leaving yours even when they closed when you took a deep breath
"Do you not like touching me?" - The second it left your mouth you groaned and mentally face-palmed yourself
Jasper lifted one brow with a confused yet amused grin, he stares at you curiously and waits for you to continue
"That's not what I meant! I mean- do you not like having me all over you?"
Jasper drops the grin and goes back to serious mode. If he ever did something that upset you enough to encourage such a negative thought to linger in your head, he'd immediately apologize and the guilt would eat at him constantly
"Where's this coming from, Darlin'?"
Jasper honestly didn't understand why this was an issue but still, he wanted to hear you talk and try to fix it if possible
"I'm not saying you don't love me because I know you do.. I just feel unwanted sometimes when you shrug me off. Or like yesterday when I tried holding onto your arm but you just kissed my cheek and walked away and I-"
Jasper didn't let you finish your rant when normally he would. Guilt sits heavily on his chest and he frowns, now realizing everything. Jasper carefully pulls you into his arms, hugging you tightly while mumbling a genuine apology
Your need for affection didn't click in his mind until now. Since the beginning of the relationship, Jasper kept a healthy distance and didn't touch you too much out of respect. Jasper never wanted to disrespect you and possibly upset you by touching you in the wrong places or at the wrong time
He explained his side of the situation after you got everything off your chest and it didn't take long for his behavior to change
When he apologizes for anything, he means it and shows it by his actions
Jasper happily started showing more affection towards you, specifically in public
And when he felt the joy and bliss from you, he promised himself to do it more and more just so he could see you smile and blush
Jasper being clingy/wanting affection would include...
Jasper probably wouldn't admit this but he absolutely craves your attention and love
He misses you the second you leave the room and if you're away for more than a day, his mood drops low and he can be quite grumpy
Jasper doesn't speak his desires of wanting to be around you all the time so he trusts his actions to do the work for him
It can have a large variety, all depending on what he's feeling specifically that day/night
If Jasper is more in a playful mood, you can expect him to poke your sides and tell you stupid puns or horrible pick up lines
Sometimes he will use his corny jokes to distract you from whatever you're doing, he absolutely adores your laugh and making you laugh means more quality time so honestly he wins either way
If Jasper is irritated or stressed about something, he will be tense around everyone else but when you walk into the room or touch his arm, he will relax and his grip would be stronger than usual
(not strong enough to hurt you though, that's like his worst nightmare)
Fights don't happen often but when they do, Jasper is usually the first one to break the silent treatment and cling to you
He'll wrap his arms around your waist from behind, kissing your neck and whispering how much he loves you
Jasper doesn't get jealous all the time so when he does for whatever reason, you can definitely expect him to never leave your side, literally. This can last for a few hours to a couple of days
He trusts you 100%
But other people? Nope
Jasper can be quite possessive if pushed to the limit. That side of him comes out faster if you're in a situation that has you feeling uncomfortable and anxious
If you're both at home with nothing important to do, Jasper will follow you like a lost puppy and hold you in some way no matter what you're doing
Like if you're reading a book? He will offer you his chest to lean against so he can read with you or to you
If you're doing dishes for yourself or friends who visit occasionally, he will either help you if you let him or he will stand behind you, his arms around your waist and head on your shoulder, kissing on you and swaying you side to side, trying to pull you away from the boring chore so you can dance with him
You're exhausted and desperate for sleep? Jasper is immediately available and will always hold you while you sleep. Since he physically can't do the same, he will watch over you and close his eyes, almost as if he's pretending to sleep with you
In the mornings, he will obviously see you wake up and when you try to leave the bed he got specifically for you, he will cling to you and mumble in your ear, asking you to stay in bed with him for "five more minutes"
If the whole Cullen family is having some sort of get together or simply having game night, Jasper will pat his thigh, telling you silently that he wants you to sit on his lap
If you're up late at night working on schooling, Jasper definitely convinces you to "take a break" when in reality you always end up falling asleep in his arms while he does the work for you
On the nights you're not at his place he will frequently stay in your room during the night if you wanted him to
Of course you'd never say no unless friends or family stayed over
When this happens, mostly with friends, Jasper will pout and text you the whole time they're there
Oh, that phone of yours is always blown up with notifications
He will text you all day if you have no plans
He will call you for hours in the night since he can't sleep
When you're comfortable enough, you end up video chatting with him at night, falling asleep to his voice while he just stares at you with so much love and sometimes he will draw you (or at least attempt to)
The way you look in any of his clothing is enough to make him smile for days, he will always compliment you and kiss all over your face, telling you how adorable you are
Jasper loves it when you wear his clothes, specifically his hoodies, for a couple reasons
If you wear something of his long enough and you give it back, your scent is still locked into the fabric and he will wear it right after you leave, to feel more calm and less lonely
One time Emmett washed your favorite hoodie of his that you wore all the time and Jasper complained to you about it, saying how his "idiot of a brother" ruined it
In conclusion, Jasper is completely in love and addicted to you so I hope you're the type to enjoy physical touch and clingy behavior because although he'd never admit it, Jasper is clingy as fuck
