The woods of Forks were tranquil, the only sound being the rustling of leaves and the distant chirping of birds. You sat on a fallen log, your back against a sturdy trunk, feeling the cool breeze brush against your skin. It was a rare moment of peace, one you cherished amidst the chaos of your life as part of the Cullen family.

Jasper Hale approached quietly, his presence calming as always. His golden eyes held a warmth that made your heart flutter. "Mind if I join you?" he asked, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.

"Not at all," you replied, patting the log beside you. As he settled down, the air felt charged with an unspoken connection. You glanced at him, taking in his handsome features and the way his expression softened in your presence.

"Been thinking about the past?" he asked, his voice low and soothing. You knew how burdened he felt by his history, and you often worried about the shadows that lingered in his mind.

"Just the future," you admitted. "What we can make of it together."

Jasper turned to you, his gaze intense yet gentle. "You're the light in my darkness, you know that?" The sincerity in his words sent a rush of warmth through you.

You smiled, your heart racing. "I feel the same way. You help me see things differently."

He took your hand, the touch sending sparks up your arm. "Promise me something," he said, his tone serious. "Promise that we'll always face whatever comes together."

"I promise," you said, squeezing his hand. "No matter what."

For a moment, you both sat in comfortable silence, the world around you fading away. Jasper's presence felt like a protective shield, and the weight of his past seemed lighter when he was with you.

"Do you ever think about what it would be like to have a normal life?" you asked, breaking the stillness.

Jasper chuckled softly. "Normal is overrated. Besides, with you, I wouldn't trade this for anything." His eyes sparkled as he looked at you, the sincerity in his voice making you blush.

As the sun began to set, painting the sky in hues of orange and purple, Jasper leaned closer. "Let's make a memory," he suggested, pulling out a small notebook from his pocket. "I want to capture this moment."

You watched as he scribbled down your thoughts, a smile spreading across your face. This was the side of Jasper you loved—thoughtful, caring, and deeply in tune with the world around him.

When he finished, he closed the notebook and turned to you. "Thank you for being my peace."

You felt a rush of emotion at his words. "Thank you for being mine."

With the last light of day fading, Jasper leaned in, his lips brushing softly against yours. In that moment, everything felt right. You knew that whatever challenges lay ahead, you would face them together, side by side, with love lighting your way.
