Under his protection

I sat in a love seat, hand in hand with Jasper. I looked over to him and gave him a smile, of which he returned.

We were in Carlisle's office, lately Jasper had been going to work with Carlisle and brought me along with him. He was there to calm down patients and to get more use to blood. He usually brought me along with him at first just because I'm the only one who can calm him down and stop him from draining someones blood, now it's just because he wants me there to see how good he's doing. Jasper is very proud of himself, as are me and Carlisle.

I loved going with him, but sometime's I wished I could avoid it. Not because of Jaz, it's someone else. There's this new guy, he's an assistant. Instead of staying at his desk, he usually blatantly followed me around the hospital. Also can't forget the things he says to me, he's a creep. I would've told Jasper about it, but he's so happy lately and I didn't wanna ruin that.

Suddenly the door opened and there revealed Carlisle, he looked in at us with a smile. "Jasper, I have a new patient. They seem to be a bit nervous, I'd appreciate if you'd help with that."

Jasper nodded, standing up but not before giving me a kiss on the cheek. I smiled, waving at them both as they left the room.

I felt myself getting nervous, without Jasper by my side, that guy was sure to harass me. Maybe I could just stay in this small office, I'd be fine. Ah, I knew I had to get up. I can't stay in here forever.

I took a deep breath and stood up, walking towards the door. I placed my hand on the knob, hesitating as I stood there. Finally, I turned it and let the light fill the room from the hall. I stuck my head out and looked out on both sides of the hall, making sure it was clear.

I sighed in relief and walked down the long hall, I thought I would be okay. That didn't last long though, as I felt a hand grab my wrist and jerk me back. I fell back into a closet, hitting my head on the floor. I looked up and there he was, that creep.

I reached a hand behind my back, discreetly typing in a few numbers. He crouched down next to me with a smirk. "It took forever for you to get away from that pretty little blonde, but at least now he won't hear your screams."

Not if he gets my call

I growled. "You're a sadistic creep."

He grit his teeth, bringing his hand up and slapping me across the face. It stung, and I tried my hardest to not give him the satisfaction of my tears.

He grabbed my face harshly, making me look him in the eye. "Don't be like that, we're gonna have some fun."

As I was about to spit in his face, the door handle started jiggling. Strong hands began to bang on the door, as it was about to to fall off the hinges.

It swung open and there was Jasper, angrier then I've ever seen him. He grabbed the guy by the collar of his shirt and held him against the wall, his feet off the ground. He struggled to get out of Jaspers grasp, but didn't succeed. Carlisle came up behind Jasper, as the guy was struggling to breath. He placed a hand on his shoulder and Jasper let him go.

Carlisle helped me up onto my feet, taking me outside. I hugged him tightly, burying my head into his shoulder. I didn't feel like I could cry, I was too shocked.

He held me in his arms for awhile, making sure I was calm and okay. Eventually, I pulled back. I wanted to see Jasper, I wanted to know if he was okay, probably not, I know that.

I stood with Carlisle for some time as the cops dragged that guy out of the hospital in cuffs. I waited nervously for Jasper, I didn't know what he was doing.  Was he about to snap? I hoped not.

I felt a hand touch my own, I looked up and saw the one I was waiting for, Jasper. I placed my hands on his cheeks, looking into his eyes with concern. "Are you okay?"

He was silent before letting out a chuckle, looking at me with a raised brow. "You just got harassed by some man, trapped in a closet with him, slapped in the face, yet you're asking me if I'm okay?"

"Oh..." I took a pause. "I suppose that is a bit silly." I bit my lip.

He took my hands off his face and held them in his own hands, bringing them up to his lips and kissing them gently. I smiled the best I could at this time, and rested my head on his chest.

He placed a hand behind me and rubbed small circles on my back, pressing a soft kiss to my head.

"I love you, Jaz." I spoke, looking up at him.

He smiled down at me. "I love you too, I promise to protect you always. This won't happen to you ever again, I'll never let anyone hurt you."

I smiled back up at him. "I trust you."
