"I did not," Jihoon said.
"Did not what?" Hyunsuk sits on the bed in Jihoon's studio apartment. "Not avoiding me? Not ghosting me? Did you answer my call? Or read my message? And you didn't run from me earlier after I saw you walk out from the cafe?"
"That's not.." Jihoon cleared his throat. "Anyway. What do you want to talk about?"
"It's about your commentary on my work during Professor Gu's last class," Hyunsuk said.
"Did you really want to get revenge about that?"
"Have I ever mentioned revenge?" Hyunsuk asked. "I went to see Professor Gu. And she told me to talk to you about your kind of art because yours and mine are different,"
"Well. I didn't really have my kind of art. I just do what we were taught by the professor. I do the exact things they asked me to," Jihoon said. "I didn't really plan to be an artist or something after I graduate. I might be the editor. Or probably go for sale or insurance. I just do it because of the scholarship,"
"How did you get an art scholarship in the first place?" Hyunsuk asked.
"I got 3 offers. Art, sport and forensic. I was actually an active athlete ever since elementary school. I joined a lot of sports and got offered a sport scholarship. But my parents are against it because they are afraid that I won't do that well and won't get much opportunity in this field. For the forensic, I applied for it. But after I got the offer, my parents were against it because I needed to attend the university overseas," Jihoon said. "For the art scholarship, I sent a fanart of my favorite anime for an art competition because I lost a bet with my friends. And for some reason, they like my art,"
"Ah.. A bet," Hyunsuk nodded. "You're surprisingly a filial son, huh?"
"Well. Didn't we should? They have been working so hard to raise me. I'm not exactly a son they can be proud of. That's why at least I should listen to them on this. It's not that hard either," Jihoon said. "And why did I tell you about this?"
"I don't know. I just asked about how you got the art scholarship when you weren't even passionate that much in art," Hyunsuk said. "You enjoy anime?"
"A lot," Jihoon said.
"Show me an anime that you really enjoy," Hyunsuk asked.
"Why did you want to know?"
"I have told you. I need to know what kind of art you enjoy," Hyunsuk said.
"You consider anime as art?" Jihoon asked with twinkling in his eyes. It makes Hyunsuk almost laugh but he holds it.
"Found something you like about me?" Hyunsuk asked.
"No," Jihoon said. "I'm just amazed there's more people consider anime as art. And you don't seem like someone who watches anime that much,"
"Well. I'm more of a marvel kid," Hyunsuk said.
"It might not be something that you will enjoy though," Jihoon said.
"You can show me some of the anime that you enjoy. And because you're more to the technique and philosophy person, show me the anime that can deliver that more than just an emotional type of storyline," Hyunsuk said.
