Tomorrow morning

Unknown

"Boss, it’s done. I instructed my guy to turn himself in to the police," someone reported.

"Finally. Just make sure there won’t be any issues, alright? Do you understand?"

"Do you hear me, Tiger? Answer me," came the loud voice.

"O-opo, boss," Tiger replied, clearly nervous as his boss aimed a gun at him.

"Good," his boss said, laughing like a devil. "Tsk, mapapasakin din si Alia," his boss cackled again.

"I-I’m leaving now, Boss D," Tiger stammered, anxiety evident in his voice.

"Alright, but make sure everything goes smoothly," Boss D instructed.

"Okay, Boss D," Tiger said, quickly leaving the room.

"Yesssssss! makikita ko na naman si Alia,"  Boss D said happily.

Alia POV

I was getting ready when Micah, busy on her phone, suddenly opened the door and walked in.

"Baby," she said, coming over to hug me from behind.

"Why?" I asked.

"U-uhm, well..." she stammered, looking unsure.

"What is it?" I replied, curious.

"I won’t be able to go with you," she admitted, scratching her head. "Secretary Elle called me. It’s the birthday of the investor in the company, and if I don’t go, she said she might pull out her investment," she explained.

"Huh? Secretary Elle can just attend for you," I said, raising my eyebrows.

"That’s what I told her, but she said she wouldn’t agree to that," Micah replied.

I felt annoyed; it seemed ridiculous that this investor was being so dramatic. Maybe she had a thing for Micah—so frustrating!

I stood up from my seat and walked out of the room, and Micah followed me, wrapping her arms around me.

"Go ahead, it’s fine," I said, trying to pull away from her embrace. I sat down on the sofa in the living room, and she did the same.

"Baby, how can I leave if you're like this?" she said, holding my hand. I removed her grip from me.

"How about this: I’ll ask Shanian to go with you to the hospital? is it okay?," she suggested with a smile.

"Wow, nagagawa mo pang ngumiti, huh?" I thought to myself.

"No, just go to the party," I insisted. "Have fun, okay?" I added sarcastically.

"Baby, are you sure?" she asked, kissing my hand.

"Yeah, just drop me off at the hospital," I replied. Even though I was still a bit annoyed, I figured it was important for her to attend.

"Okay, let’s go then!" she said cheerfully. I stood up, grabbed my bag, and we left her house together.

After a while, we finally arrived at the hospital. Before I could get out of the car, Micah leaned in and kissed me on the lips.

"Baby, text me if you need me to pick you up later, okay?" she said.
