Jake was filling out paperwork- something he did far more than he had imagined when he became a police officer. It was mind numbingly boring for him, but unfortunately it was part of the job as sheriff.

Jake became sheriff of a small town a few hours from where he grew up. When he says small, he means if drama happens, news works it's way through the town twice before sunset. Everyone knew each other, and while Jake was an outsider, he was quickly accepted into the community. As long as he fit in with the town and didn't make waves that is.

It was a very conservative area... so Jake tried to keep his personal life as personal as possible.

Jake had been sheriff for about three years at this point, and he loved it. It was easy. This was a small town, so crime was very low. He hasn't even dealt with a murder yet. Mostly it was just drug related or petty crimes. Never anything serious.

Being a small town meant he had to do a lot himself. He only had three deputies working there, so most of the time things ended up having to be delegated to him. Jake didn't mind per se. Sometimes he just would like a day off.

His cell phone rang and he sighed. "Hello?" He answered with an eye roll. It was one of his deputies who almost always called him on his personal cell rather than the office phone or using the radios.

"Sheriff Pitts, you're not gonna believe this!" Deputy Cora exclaimed.

"What happened?" Jake asked wearily.

"I just pulled over someone for speeding, okay? It's a super nice sports car, I think it's like a charger or something really nice car." The deputy rambled.

"Wow a speeding ticket? That's new." Jake responded dryly, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

"No you don't understand!" Deputy Cora of interrupted. " I ran is license and guess what?"

"What? Jake asked, drawing random shapes on a sticky note pad next to him.

"He's wanted! There's a warrant out for him!" CC said and that made Jake pause.

"For what?" The sheriff asked, now intrigued. It was probably something small if he had to guess.

"Oh a shit ton of stuff! He's wanted for organized crime, grand larceny, grand theft auto, counterfeit, fraud. All white collar shit! There's like a million dollar bounty on his head!" CC listed off.

"Where is he?" Jake asked, sitting up in his seat now. Holy shit. They weren't equipped for this at all.

"He's in the back of my patrol car! I put him under arrest and he cooperated!" CC exclaimed.

"Okay, bring him in, just be careful. He's probably very dangerous." Jake said, standing up.

"Don't worry, I will. He's handcuffed and everything." CC assured Jake.

"What's his name?" Jake asked, already dialing the number for the US marshals.

"Andy Biersack." CC said.

"Okay thank you. Call me if you have any trouble. Radio Lonny for backup so he can follow you back, okay?" Jake said.

"You got it, sheriff. I'll see you soon!" CC replied before hanging up.

Jake's hands shook as he waited for someone to answer the call. He couldn't believe this was happening.

" Idaho US marshal's office. How can I help you?" A woman answered.

"Hello, this is a sheriff, Jake Pitts. I need to talk to a  US, marshal, one of my deputies pulled over someone, and apparently they haven't a bounty on their heads?" Jake said, hoping he didn't sound as nervous as he felt.
