When I stopped breathing, it felt like I was chocking, and I tried my best to catch a breath, but I couldn't breath, I was dead.

As the boys found themselves in the studio and rehearsing for tour more often, I found myself distracting from the truth. I picked up my pencil again, sketching on the walls, while the boys practiced. Ashton always turned around, glancing to the doodles and giving me a cheeky smile.

When they were at the studio, I cleaned up around the house, for they were still messy teenage boys. I would also listen to Ashton's music. I had stolen his phone and played his playlist when I could. At first I felt bad, incase he needed it, but then he said it made me more content than he. Sometimes his mother would text, and following his instructions, I would reply with a simply message. On occasions, I'd scroll through his twitter, where thousands of fans reached out to his for inspiration. With that, I felt touched to get to know the lost boy, Ashton.

A few times, Harvey stopped by to drop of documents. The boys and I made the decision that I could answer the door if it was he who was there. Harvey was from New York and didn't know of my death. I kept the act up as the neighbor, named Sage, for my safety.

One sunny Thursday I doodled on the walls, playing quite tunes throughout the halls. Ashton and Calum sat out back near the pool, while the other two pasty boys ran out for errands.

A knock erupted on the front door, making my head spin to the front of the house. I set down the pencil and open up the door slowly, assuming it is Harvey with more work. My eyes glance up to greet a pair of fading grey ones. Ms. Patty's mouth hung wide open in utter shock, for she knew I was long dead and impossible to be alive. I stand straight, speechless and confused.

The loud noise of feet against the wooden floor sounds behind me, I turn seeing Ashton walking toward the door that hung wide open. He makes eye contact with me, twirling his finger around for instruction. I fade to nothing as I become unable to see to the naked eye.

"Sorry about that Ms. Patty," Ashton greets the frozen in place woman. "sometimes that door just swings open. I've been looking to get it fixed." He smiles warmly.

"Did you see that-t?" The older woman stutters, her hand pointing to where I stood.

"See what?" Ashton plays along, proving himself a good actor.

"The young girl who died here, Wendy."

"I think your mind was wandering too far Ms." The blond rubs her shoulder, now fully catching her attention.

"Well- I just dropped by to give you the final papers and all." She pulls out a file, hanging it to him with a shaky hand. Slowly slumping away to her tiny car. Ashton shuts the door, turning to me as I reappear.

"What were you thinking?" His voice on edge, but not yelling.

"I thought it was Harvey." I mumble, looking down to my hands.

"Alright, but you really must be more careful." He's sits down on the floor next to me. "Now, what's your main reason you don't want to come with us on tour?"

"I already told you." I cross my arms.

"Come on."

"I'm afraid," I huff out. "I've only left the home for so long, there's always restrictions and right now I just want to play it safe."

"Understandable, now come join Cal and I at the pool." His large hand interlocks with mine, dragging me out to the back where Calum relaxes.

"Hey Wen!" He greets, waving his hand around at me, I grin back in return. I dip my chilled legs in the water, the liquid around them turning icy. Ashton jumps in, creating a giant splash.

"So, Wendy you never finished that question I asked that night we met you." Calum places his arms up next to me, his brown eyes looking up to me.

"What was it?" I ask, not quite remembering it.

"What is it like to- ya know- die?"

"Well, when I was dying I had a horrible fever, so I was very warm. Then, as I took my last breath, chills ran throughout my veins. When I stopped breathing, it felt like I was chocking, and I tried my best to catch a breath, but I couldn't breath, I was dead. My soul just kinda lay with my body, the monitor rang through out the quiet house." I sigh sadly, looking down to my feet submerged in the water. The sound of the door bell went off, this time it was for sure Harvey. I hop up, skipping through the walls and reaching the door.

"Hello Mr. H!" I smile wide, greeting him.

"Oh! Sage, perfect I needed to talk to you anyways." He pulls me to the side room, so we could talk. His hand touches my upper arm, the chill running through his finger tips. "Sage, my dear." He starts.

"Yes?"

"I don't know if the lads have told you, but they are leaving very soon."

"Oh, I know Harvey."

"That's not all," he tells me, making me curious. "I noticed you've become quite close with these young boys, but they are musicians and they are going to travel a ton after this. They will meet millions of women. I suggest slowly disappearing from them, it will make the leave easier."

"Disappear?" I question.

"Yes, this little benefits thing is not going to work out. I'm sure it's fun, and you've grown some feelings, but save the heartbreak and cut it off now."

"Pardon? Benefits?"

"Yes, I know it all. What woman wants to hang out with a bunch of guys for no reason? It's obviously for her pen pleasures." He explains more in depth.

"Pardon Harvey, but I don't agree with this statement, and I am sure many women wouldn't either. People can have friends of the opposite sex and not be 'pleasuring' themselves or using one another as you say. I have not engaged in an of this 'pleasuring' you talk of with any of these boys, or anyone ever in fact. And if I was, there isn't anything wrong with that! That doesn't make me a slut, and not doing anything doesn't make me a prude. And I know the boys are headed off, we will keep in contact as we promised. I find what you have said beyond rude. Now, look what you've done, you assume all this and made an ass out of you and me." I grumble, taking his packet from his hands and stomping off.

"What is the matter?" The boys ask as I slap the packet on the table.

"Harvey." I cross my arms.

"What did he do?"

"He just said things." I plop my toes in the water.

"Like what?"Ashton questions curiously.

"Nothing, never mind." I look down sadly, kicking the blue water around, making splashes.
