I wasn't at all sure how I would help them and the other two who had joined their death circle

WENDY's POV

I was fortunate that my check in card for my job at the local library was a valid form of ID to use at the airport, otherwise I wouldn't be able to board the flight out to the boys.

I was extremely nervous, this was my first time out in full public since death. I was paranoid that I would run into someone I once knew. There was definitely a chance I could give the people from Riversdale a good spook.

"Miss, phones away. We are taking off." The attendant points out to me as she slides down the isle. I nod and slide the phone into my pocket.

I tap my fingers on my leg, scared for the boys. They were in pain, excruciatingly pain. Whatever wounds they were suffering from, it was not enjoyable. I had been there, no matter what form of death, it was painful.

"Nervous?" The man next to me questions.

"Slightly." I nod, looking back out the window in hopes to end the short conversation.

"Don't be, these planes are very safe. You won't die." He reassures me, but I can only snicker seeing as I am already dead. "Am I wrong?"

"Oh, no! You are spot on."

"Gabe." He sticks out his hand to take mine.

"Sage." I take his hand in mine and shake is strongly.

"I can't believe you lied to me, Wendy." He scoffs dramatically. I stare at him confused. "I was behind you at security. Why would you lie?"

"My identity can be a touchy subject for some."

"Alright, tell me, whoever you are, why you are leaving sunny California?" Gabe's curiosity doesn't end, as his questions continue.

"Friends?" I say, shrugging.

"Oh, this trip is a touchy subject too, I see." He nods. "Until you are ready to share, I'll tell you mine. I'm a magician, heading to a convention. I know it sounds lame, but only professionals go."

"Really? Show me a trick." Gabe follows through, showing me one of his tricks, which is impressive.

"Very nice! I maybe no magician, but I have a few tricks of my own." I grin proudly.

"Let's see, amateur." His eyebrow cocks up, challenging me. All this was taking my mind off the boys and what I was really on the flight for.

Taking the cards from his hands, I shuffle them. Then throwing them in the air I freeze them, just as I had done with Ashton's drumstick when I had met the band. Gabe stares in wow, his fingers poke at a few, making them spin as if there was no gravity.

"How?" He chokes, I turn to the window, watching the movement outside. Each person had a duty and a place to be.

My mind is on the boys, and their everlasting pain. I wasn't at all sure how I would help them and the other two who had joined their death circle. Ashton's voice was so shaken on the phone, the sound of their tragedy tugged at my heart.

I close my eyes, in hopes to get Gabe to leave me alone from his blabbering. His awe remained constant with the cards I had frozen.

The rumbling plane engine roared in my ears and I was becoming impatient. I just wanted to help the boys. If there was a possibility of saving them, I would want to try it. I would do absolutely anything to help them.

My mind attempted focusing on the boys and where they were. Flashes of their location only lasted seconds, which was nearly useless to me and finding them.
