A FEW DAYS TILL HOMECOMING WOOHOO!! This was the first thing I thought when I woke up this morning. The second thing was: and I don't even have a dress!
"We need dresses, and we should probably get them today before they run out." I announced to the girls who were awake. They immediately agreed, and we got ready before waking up Franchesca and Karen, who hadn't adjusted to the new sleep in times introduced by school and could often be found sleeping until 1 in the afternoon.
"Oh my god, I'm up okay? WAKE UP FRANCHESCA!" Karen shouted just before we were able to dump an icy bucket of water on her and Franchesca. What a shame, it would have been so fun!
Ten minutes later, they were dressed. Karen munched on an oatmeal raisin cookie (a piece of the stash we kept in our dorm), grumbling about the importance of sleep.
"Alright, but if we are going to the mall, shouldn't we have a ride?" Franchesca, who was eating a no longer frozen waffle, pointed out.
"We would need something like a mini van to fit us all," I said.
Lily made a face. "The only people with mini vans on campus are the staff and Britney. It's against school rules for the staff to give us a ride and hell no are we going with Britney."
I had no idea why the devil, who wears Prada, would be driving a mini van, so just don't ask.
"We could call one of those van cab things! Like the ones that are always at the airports?" Sophia suggested.
"What are we, made of money?"
Emily began to say, "Actually, those cabs are fairly cheap. They're only, like, 2 bucks per mile, and the mall is only-"
"Okay, I get it! We'll go in one of the cab things. But just for that Emily, you're paying the way there!" Lily glared at her.
I'd have to slip Emily a ten or something later; no way I was letting her pay for us all by herself.
"Okay then, I'll go get faculty permission and the number," said Franchesca.
"I'm going too!" said Fadia, who had had the darkest and strongest coffee available at our own campus Starbucks. She claimed that if she was going to be a true emo, what she drank had to be as dark as her soul. Personally, I thought her soul would be green considering how much she loves Shrek, but what do I know?
In all her hype to leave the room, Fadia accidentally bumped into the wall, summoning a loud, obnoxious laugh from our doorway.
"Another reason why Jhaysen likes me way more than Emily! Her friends are so clumsy and lame!" shrieked Britney.
Karen frowned. "Hasn't it been made clear that not only does Jhaysen not like you, but that we don't like you, our moms don't like you, our dads don't like you, our pets don't like you, our cousins don't like you, our other friends don't like you, our ancestors wouldn't like you, the piece of gum on the bottom of my shoe doesn't like you, and Obama doesn't like you?"
Britney scoffed. "Who needs Obama anyway?"
For whatever reason, Fadia thought that moment was the appropriate time to yell, "ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED!"
Viviana joined her when she then started chanting "Shrek! Shrek! Shrek!" Maybe I would have commented on how I will never understand the love and adoration they shared for Shrek, but I couldn't stop laughing at Britney's shell shocked face.
"Are you guys, like, high or something? OMG, you totally are! I'm calling the cops!"
"Girl, shut up! We're as high as your nose is real!" Viviana replied. It was a well known fact Britney had gotten her nose done last year.
Britney gasped and stormed away. Franchesca went the opposite way, probably remembering why the door had been opened in the first place. Fadia followed her, still chanting "Shrek! Shrek! Shrek!"

Believe it or not, we were actually able to organize ourselves into the cab, and to the mall!!
We first stopped by edgeLook, where I could usually find something. And I did! It wasn't long before I spotted a silver, strapless dress that went to my knees. I really liked it, but the main reason I bought was that I was worried the others would kill me if I didn't. Sophia also managed to find a dress- a baby blue dress that had a skirt that flew from her waist to her mid-shin. She insisted on buying a jean jacket to go with.
The next place we stopped at was a fairly random boutique, but it was also fairly cheap and unique, both in the best way possible. Fadia fell in love as soon as she spotted a navy blue dress with a floral pattern. "OH MY GOD, IT HAS POCKETS! HOW MUCH FOOD DO YOU THINK I CAN FIT IN HERE?" she yelled from the fitting room, causing the cashier to give us a weird look. Karen also struck gold with a classic little black dress, skater style. She claimed the sparkly torso made it look "homecoming" enough to buy.
Then we stopped by Franchesca's, the ironic thing being that Franchesca found her dress there. It was a maxi dress with an aqua chevron pattern on the skirt and a white torso. She thought it to be simple enough to be comfortable in, not to mention the fact that she rocked it.
Our last stop was another boutique both Emily and Viviana loved. Both of them were able to find their dresses there. Emily's was a satin turquoise one shoulder dress that reached her ankles. "My tummy- it's gone! I HAVE A BUTT!" she yelled from the fitting room, and yet again we were shot confused looks from employees. Viviana a coral dress that hugged her body. "HELL YES! I had achieved the Nicki Minaj look!" Guess who got the confused looks again? That's right- we did! Lily shyly stepped out of the fitting room to ask us what we though about her dress- a strapless black dress that wasshort in the front, long in the back, with jagged ends. Of course, she looked amazing in it, and that's what we told her. We walked out of that last store slightly broke, but satisfied.
"It's 4 in the afternoon," Sophia yawned. "Can we go home yet?"
"We missed lunch," Karen said sadly.
"It's never too late for lunch!" Fadia declared. "To the food court!"
"Actually, I asked my mom to pick me up. I've been missing her and my neighborhood squad. I'll be back by tomorrow, though." Lily announced.
"That's cool. Do you want us to walk you to her car or anything?" I offered.
"No no, I'm fine! Adios amigas!" she said, walking to the nearest exit. I found it a little odd of her to just go like that, but we did live with her and all. She must have been a little tired of us, which was understandable honestly.
"Well, I'm still hungry. To the food court!" said Karen.
